  1. Very nicely done! Enabling good flow is going to be quite a challenge though... Dosing or CR?
  2. I'm interested in your red coco worms. Any pics bro?
  3. Haven't heard much from you bro... how's the tank going?
  4. I've tried something similar with the chaeto, but due to low flow it didn't work out too well. Also, once the glass starts getting dirty, less light penetrates. Pls keep us posted on how your chaeto is doing.
  5. Is Iwarna's shipment confirmed 2300 tonight? They didn't post anything on their forum. Any clue what type of corals or fishes?
  6. Let's recap on the speed of this amazing creature...
  7. I second the hunting. A one-time major back-breaking work, but saves you sleepless nights wondering if the fishes are safe or not. Worth the trade, IMO.
  8. If you're talking about the corals, I've shifted some of them to the sand bed. The GSP and blue polyps sit pretty snugly on the top, so they stay, with the blue mushrooms. The frogspawn slots into the hole perfectly, so no issues there. As for the rocks themselves, they are all solid. I have 2 electric blue hermits constantly testing the foundations as they bulldoze around, so no worries. I used to keep many smaller rocks to do my scaping, but I can't get them to stay without tumbling. That's why I chose bigger rocks this time.
  9. Haha... I know what you mean. I think its the same for everyone. You will be admiring your corals & fishes, and spot the scratch. "Where did THIS come from?!? ARGHHHH!!!" TBH, I'm more afraid of "accidents" from my colleagues than my own folly. I can hit myself in the head if its my own fault, but I will be really torn if it's caused by others. If anyone has seen "Finding Nemo" (seriously, how could any reefer not watch this great show?), there are plenty of people like the girl in braces. They see something nice in the tank, the finger goes thumping on the glass.
  10. Hahaha... looks like it, doesn't it? My black face orange zoas are on a very flat piece of rock. And the weirdest thing is ever since I started over (I'm using a very thin sand bed now), I get sand storm. The sand got blown over and thus covering the rock, minus the zoas. They are grown quite scattered over the rock, so it appears as if they grow on the sand. I think its the thorough cleaning of my equipment (wave makers) that put up a sand storm.
  11. Thanks bro! Nothing compared to your mushies kingdom... an inspiration to follow!
  12. I fixed up the 3 plug digital timer today. Lighting sequence should be as follows: 7am: Actinic ON 9am: White ON 5pm: White OFF 7pm: Actinic OFF, LED moonlight ON 2am: LED moonlight OFF I hope its not too extensive... would like my fishes to have ample rest as well. Its more for office hours. Pls feel free to give your suggestions on the lighting timing.
  13. This is my 2nd attempt at keeping these orange yumas. The first I had melted for no reason, so I'm giving it another try. It came in a small rock, which is ideal for my tank size. It was quite cheap too!
  14. He was lurking right in front of the camera, so I took a snap. You have crap on your roof, pal!
  15. Bought a pair of cleaner shrimp. I'm still not sure about the difference between the brownish tint and the fair, white types. These guys are really small and cute, just like the pair I had before when I first bought them.
  16. I bought a pair of clowns from Bro Fuel... unfortunately, the male didn't make it. Here's the female, a fine looker. Very curious and actively swimming around when I released it into the tank. My common clown was already hooking up with her... I wonder if they would pair up.
  17. That is some crazy spread of mushrooms... perhaps too much of a good thing? It can look scary...
  18. Ah Beng's have lots of blue mushies... there are red mushies, green or orange yuma mushrooms. Many medium to large yellow tangs as well. Iwarna with SPS shipment from Walt Smith. Not familiar with SPS, so can't comment much. Quite a few twin spot gobies and small blue tangs.
  19. What's the thickness of the tank? Collection place?
  20. I'm slowly stocking up on my existing tank right now. Very tempted to switch to an acrylic tank with a sump. Still in the midst of planning and getting good lobangs...
  21. Wow... I like all that star polyps spreading around. Makes your tank look... hairy. Good stuff!
