  1. Nope, its rather silent. I use it during times when A/C is switched off, so it doesn't affect me.
  2. I used a nano before, but felt the flow was too small. K1 is not that great either, but useful for surface aeration. Yeah, I really like the fan. Without A/C during weekends, water temp was at 26oC with lights on.
  3. Erm... why take the risk then? Modify it with reinforcements to give yourself a peace of mind.
  4. Depends on what you wanna keep. The shortest length for T5 HOs is 2Ft. There are T5 LOs that are 1.5 ft. Another substitute for T5 HOs are PL lights, and they do have 1 to 1.5 Ft. Try Petmart at Serangoon, just next to Rainbow.
  5. Hey... looking good. Given the chance to re-make the tank, you may wanna get tinted glass for the back to cover the filter compartment.
  6. Wow... your sump looks really cool. Can't wait for it to be fully functional.
  7. But seriously... 3 feet? That's really long...
  8. I've never had success when I have too much aeration, but I do agree on clustered cysts not bearing fruit.
  9. Supply of air bubbles shouldn't be too rapid. Approx. 1 bubble per second is enough. And you don't need sunlight. My guess -> flow is too strong and temp too hot.
  10. He stays in Australia, Melbourne. You can treat him to pan cakes instead.
  11. Its the same tank, just showing its growth and maturity. I love it.
  12. Can't agree more... I'm actually enjoying a cleaner tank bottom. I am tempted to re-scape with new rocks... kinda limited with my existing ones and the size of my tank. Below are some photos of a nano tank (zoas dominated) that I aspire to achieve. Taken from RC.
  13. Really green PPEs are hard to come by nowadays... nice.
  14. For the time being, yes. I kept having rocks turning black at the bottom when I have a sand bed.
  15. Hmmm... the "dragon" that are known to even outlive their owners up to 4 generations. This is one pre-historic beauty.
  16. His tank is too nice to be evil, so I chose spidey instead.
  17. Just remember that there is no shortcut to success, especially with reef keeping. All da best!
  18. Its better to have coralline than nuisance algae (ie. Green hair or red slime), coz if it grows, others don't. It colors up your tank as well, so IMO its good to have them. However, like what they say, too much of a good thing can lead to other issues, but I believe are easier to solve than having nuisance algae.
