my apologies, i thot you talking abt those 'aeroplane' type of spoilers. if you talking abt those normal kind, no problem lah... there are lots of 'accessories' shops doing them. also JB has a lot! CHEAP somemore. (maybe you can consider the full bodykit?) cheers... -

dun worry, Borneo will never do it for him. (and it's not abt $$$). And i think he's just doing up his Lancer?? right? keke... and nope, Cycle & Carriage will not do as well... Spider: if you want up-to-date information, you can check on LTA or One Motoring website. They do tell you what's modifiable and what's not... some advice, if you 'do outside', dun 'do inside' and vice-versa. (guess you know what i mean???) -
were you the guy @ Bio Ocean on sunday waiting for them to open shop?? I think in white polo t-shirt?? keke... btw: Bio Ocean does have good hammer.

well... it makes sense... see whether other YT owners have experience this situation... maybe i will put more nori before i go work.
-
haha... sure hope its not an abnormal behaviour (e.g. insufficient food from me) im trying to control its diet leh! this bugger has been eating and eating nonstop! rabbits aside, have you seen any YT, or for that matter, any marine fish that eats its own poo?? hope this is not a bad syndrome....
-
I've been feeding my YT with nori (main diet) and brine and mysis shrimps soaked in Garlic... sometimes with cyclopeeze as well. I just noticed a strange behaviour from my YT... This chap eats its own excretion!!! I've not really seen anyone posted with regards to this... Is this normal??? The excretion is soft. Not that i touch it lah, but it looks as if its soft, coz it breaks up immediately when out of the YT's eh... "back-end"...(for lack of a better word)

teach??? just sharing of information lah... not teach. that's what SRC is for, previously, another member also took time to show me how to wire up the ballast. another even drew technical drawing for me! that's how sincere some of the ppl here are... estimated budget is in the previous post already.. but this is only for the lightings! excluding hood... ~$120 +/- depends on what reflectors you want. but you must ask Glare for his pricing of the 3' T5 tubes. Doing the hood is the most troublesome part... i know where to buy planks, but its the cutting and drilling that's the problem, as i do not have the right tools. When i drop by Reb*rn, will help you find the price for T5 reflectors (or maybe can go hardware shop find industrial light reflectors, lagi cheaper! but dunno how effective lah) PM me your contact info... we'll try to arrange something next week. Right now, i need to stop being lazy and start buying the parts... maybe if you keen, we go parts-a-shopping together! btw: have you measured your tank?? you will need to know how big it is, to do up the hood... yours is 3' right? eh, mine is a very rought end-product (not professional like some of the members here), maybe i should take some pictures of my existing hood first, at least you have some expectation level... haha
-
if you DIY, then you must find something to hold the ballast, and tubes (of coz)... im using wooden planks as i DIYed my hood. Will be redoing my hood again, when i buy the 2nd set of T5... will show you some pix or you wanna join me to DIY? haha if retrofit, you have to find a way to hang it (how to??? i also dunno, coz i got no $$ to buy retrofit... hahaha) btw: the heat generated by T5 is lower than PL (for sure!) and is surely brighter. tube: one blue and one white??? eh... not say 'must' lah... just that actinic blue brings out "COLOUR" in your corals and what have you... it does make some 'visual difference'... however, its not a must (i may be wrong...)
-
eh, im using 2x24W now, not using chiller. light is approx 5" above water surface... retrofit set... you can check out eAN, sponsor website (online shopfront) www.eaquanature.com you should be able to find the pricing there... Or you can PM Edmund, im sure he will help you with more details...
-
now that one of our sponsor Glare, is bringing in some good priced T5 tubes, you can consider DIY! especially if it can fit directly into your hood... (DIY your hood also lah... pay a visit to Ikea, you should be able to find some planks there suitable to make as your hood) To DIY: 1) Buy the e-ballast, you can try OSRAM, im using it currently... i was realised there's a website selling ... (however, have not called them to confirm the pricing.) @ <$50 2) Buy endcaps (non-waterproof), tube holders(you may not need this), wiring from Sinter (SL Tower) not forgetting the 3-pin plug and 3-wire cable. <$10 3) Buy tubes (Glare is offering a simply irresistable price!) and reflectors (think you can get arcadia ones, from Reb*rn) Tubes: im getting the 24W (blue + white) $45 Reflectors: not sure how much, ~$30 per pair??? my guess... 4) Just hook up the wires to and from the ballast to your endcaps, just follow the wiring diagram, even a do-do, like me, can do it... F.O.C Previously, i realised that the pricing for DIY T5 is not really that much of a difference compared to buying a retrofit set... However, now with the new T5 tube pricing from Glare, its really worth the DIY! Note: i've not tested the tubes yet... but should be getting them sometime this coming week to test test... (am doing up my 2nd set of T5) hope this helps...

freewill replied to triggerpuff's topic in General Reefkeeping_

BORING! -
You have too many DIY stuff... hahaha... you will have to sell me your Kalkreactor! (kidding lah, but can teach me how to do one not? or sell me one lah... cheap cheap one leh... im a poor working adult... but i guess you have lotsa of space left for stocking... i kinda regret getting the 2x1.5x1.5 liao, now no more space for stocking... sad! next time i upgrade, sure look for you to do up a stand for me... hahaha

How does weipro skimmer work..??
freewill replied to KapoKidd's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
i also just got the 2013... over the weekend.. actually quite easy to use (especially if in sump)... 1) Plug a pump, preferably weipro, as its pump outlet fits nicely into the PS's inlet. 2) Ensure pump and PS are placed within the sump. 3) Turn on pump and see the water level rise within the PS. 4) Adjust the knob on the PS to ensure that water lever within the PS is where the mark is. (there's a marking on the PS, which reads "Water Level".) 5) This should work liao... however, it will take at least 3 days for the cup to have a result, realised that in order to have faster results, tune the water level higher abit... then slowly tune in down. (this works for me)... Hope this helps bro... -
that's a very good piece of review you have there! btw: the e-ballast was it bought at sinter as well?? am thinking of going there to get the tubes now! planning to DIY my 2nd T5 set... was too bothered by the price of the tubes... but you just brought good news! thanks a million!!!
