Thanks, that will be very great. How can I collect from you? I suppose just heat with the gas burner then bend it right? Do you know where I can buy the big suckers? don't think those that came with the ehiem will work, they are too big. How about using screws but they will rust in the SW.
-
Last night I installed a SICCA novo but the suckers keep coming off. Going to use 2 of them with the $20 timer to make some waves, sort of cheapskate wavemakers. How did you fixed your pH in your tank?? Care to give some advise?

my mushroom still very good condition haven't start to melt. The "Kent Tech D" you mention, where can I buy it? Hopefully can save the ricordia. Now it melt to the center till it left the mouth only but the other half still intact.
-
lighting is 150w BLV 10KK MH. Depth of water is 12". Temp 27 degs C with one fan. NH3 = 0 NO2 = 0 NO3 = 12.5ppm The ricordia is not under directly MH but shaded partly by my alveopora.
-
I've a green ricordia that is slowly melting away. Could it be caused by insufficient light? The part that starts to melt is the part that has more light, now left the part that is hidden under the shade.

I wrote to redsea regarding my problem and finally got a reply. They also keen to support this group. ------------------ Dear Wei, I am sorry for the lack of communication. I am in Guangzhou China at the moment at a very interesting Hobby Aquarium Show and was unable to check my email for a few days. Regards the Prizm, this is the first time we have seen this problem. Thank you very much for bringing it to our attention and supplying the photo. We will certainly replace the Prizm Motor free of charge. I have asked our Agent Yi Hu in Singapore to contact you and organise to supply you with a new motor ASAP. I am interested in the Singapore Aquarium Club you belong to. Is there any way that Red Sea can support you group? We are certainly keen to support Marine Hobby Clubs! I've received no reply or comment regarding my problem. Does this meant that you accept the way things are going for the prizim in Singapore? In this case I will have to state my experience when I "review" the prizm. Best Regards Wei Leong ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tan Wei Leong" <weileong@singnet.com.sg> To: <paulb@redseafish.co.il> Cc: <yihufish@singnet.com> Sent: Saturday, November 08, 2003 10:44 PM Subject: redsea prizm protein skimmer Dear Sir, In early Oct I bought a prizm from one of the LFS in Singapore. I choose the prizm because of the compact size and good review it has. Late this week my prizm protein skimmer that is barely one month old suddenly stop working. I checked and found one of the "bracket" on the motor broken and that has caused the impeller to stop running pls look at the attached photo for details. I went back to the LFS where I bought the prizm and the LFS boss checked with the distributor. I was told that they do not even sell this motor. This is the first time I heard that no warranty + no spares avaliable (at least for this moment). Seems like I am not the only person that is facing this problem as I've checked with a few local hobbist and they too had this problem. When I assemble the motor I did not force it in. I followed the instruction very carefully and everything is working great until last night when no more water coming out from the skimmer. I've managed to put the motor back and it is held in place by the o-ring, however it will drop out in due time. Now it is running again but no more foam for the past 3 days. I guess the motor is not producing enough bubbles. Now I am dead already because no motor is avaliable and currently no foam is produced. I am forced to buy a new skimmer but definately I have to go for some other brands because of the aftersales support and spares avaliable. My money has just gone into the drain. I would have never buy this skimmer if I know of this problem beforehand. Regards. Wei Leong

it's called "Ammonia Alert"

Saw one turban snail crawl near the water surface then release some tiny green colored pin sized "balls", are those eggs? My clownfish and corals having good time eating them.
-
Anyone??? Possible to overskim 5x the rated capacity??
-
buy the AquaC Remora, also quite slim and just a little bit thicker than the prizm. They can sell the product and yet no spare for this, better give it a miss.
-
how do you solve the problem you're facing? I managed to put the motor back and got it running but since one bracket is broken, it will drop out in no time. Hiaz can't believe they don't even have spare for something that are selling.
-
hi, I went to the LFS concern today and they called Yi Hu and was told no spare avaliable. The problem as you can see from the picture is not the O-Ring, if O-ring no issue as they are easily avaliable. You can see the broken bracket, just broke off like that and it blocked the impeller and the skimmer cannot work already.
-
After getting burn by lack of spare for the prizm hang on skimmer, I need to buy a new skimmer. Currently my tank is 100 litres. The Remora is rated for 20-75 gallen tank while the remora pro is rated for 40 - 120 gallen. I have plans to go for a 4.5ftx2.5ftx2ft somewhere next yr and would like to use the new AquaC in the new tank and hopefully by then the prizm agent has make the replacement pump avaliable. My question is that since my current tank is only around 20gallen is it okie to over skim with the remora pro which is rated for 40-120gallen? Any side effect or is "bigger" better?

This is really "good" and "wonderful" news. First time I heard that no warranty + no spares avaliable (at least for this moment). Seems like I am not the only person that is facing this problem. When I assemble the motor I did not force it in. I followed the instruction very carefully and everything is working great until last night when no more water coming out from the skimmer. Now it is running again but no more foam. I guess the motor is not producing enuff bubbles. Now I am dead already right cos they don't sell the motor anymore. Perhaps should write to case and complain. How can they provide these type of aftersales service. I bought this because it is very compact and saves a lot of space. Looks like I am stuck now.
-
I bought from P*T*A*T like what you mention. Yes they have the parts but I've only used mine for barely one month and the bracket should not be broken so quickly so I want to look for the agent to claim warranty. If not successful then I LL buy the spare motor. If spare too expensive then buy another skimmer already and blacklist the brand
-
My prizm protein skimmer that is barely one month old suddenly stop working. Check and found one of the "bracket" on the motor broken and that has caused the impeller to stop. Anyone knows who is the local agent that can provide the warranty? Pls help. It works quite well, giving me the dark green skimmate.
