  1. I bought the 2ft setup because I need the cabinet space to store some supporting equipment (like CF, CO2 cylinder, kalk reactor etc) for the 4ft reef. Then I planned it as a seahorse ###### softies tank. Later the idea was abandoned so since I already got the MH light so I just use it. I just on it when I need to view the tank so the power consumption would not be that high but I will change to PL or T5 in due time.
  2. black back butterfly. Now I need to snap that golden angel and powder blue Very elusive, almost impossible to photograph.
  3. these mushies comes with the LR one No good for my SPS tank, need to get rid of them. I let the butterfly do their job. Isn't this a good way to make sure they will survive in my tank heheh Bro Deepblue my Naso is only 2.5" from head to toe, very small, no choice with small tank but my FOWLR will be a much bigger one when I relocate. Here's a small pc of green bubble tip anemone I picked up from Iwana today. Cheap cheap, liveaquaria says to tempt the butterfly with a small pc of anemone so I gave it a try. A little bleached and I wonder if I can nurse it back to health if the butterfly don't turn it into supper.
  4. some softies from my 4ft. The butterfly are free to peck on them Once they clear away the mushroom I can put the LR back into my 4ft
  5. Aren't bare bottom the best solution for FOWLR ? Here's the fishes I have so far in the FOWLR. Naso tang.
  6. sure sure I usually tune my skimmer to product "shit" instead of kopi-O so don't worry abt mixed up
  7. The black pipes are to split the return water so it can cover those dead corners. As for the green one it is temporary solution cos I am using the hailea 6530 as "close loop", sure looks like a tunze is not a good solution. Need some better looking ones than the current solution.
  8. The equipment used are 150W MH with 20,000K DE iwasaki. A Hailea 6530 is used as "close loop" for water circulation. Return pump is ehiem 1260 pumping water from the sump. This tank shares the sump with my 4ft reef tank. So chiller, skimmer etc are common. Return pump pumps water thru a coralife 12x turbo twist UV sterlizier. For a start, I will keep some softies in the tank so the butterfly can feed on them while I try to get them to get prepared food
  9. The tank was cycled for almost 4 months and the first fish added on 30th May. The grade #0 sand was removed during that process as I decided to go with a bare bottom tank. Here's the overall look. Still a little ugly as I need to tigy up the pipings.
  10. filled with grade #0 sand and salt water, market prawn added for cycling on 18th Feb 2004.
  11. Tank and cabinet arrived on Feb 17th 2004.

  17. The trick is not to let the DOC have a chance to break down into NO3 in the first place Skim and skim....
  18. Finally the last one. The classic funny look shot I would have to say his Yellow Tang really likes to be photographed !!! Oh yes Bro Roidan, your Yellow tang is also one of the most cute I've ever seen, unlike mine which is skin and bone only
  19. Angle view. Fat or not??? But Bro Roidan's still fatter.
