  1. That's because the cheaper chiller spoilt easily, just check around with reefers here who's tank crashed due to the Atman chiller breaking down and tank water temp shoot up. Anyway 618Watt is the measured current drawn from the artica 1/2hp chiller. However I recently measured my artica and drawing only 2.2A So it should be drawing 220V X 2.2A = 484Watt only. Atman 1/2HP (overall) -compressor rating 1/4HP Wattage 320watts Artica 1/2HP (compressor) - cooling power 1.56hp. wattage 484watts. Assuming artica chiller runs 6hrs/day and atman 12hrs/day.. Artica - 2.2A X 220V = 484watts (484watts x 6hrs x 30 days)/1000 = 87.12kWh 87.12kWh x $0.1957/kWh = $17.05/month Atman (320watts x 12hrs x 30 days)/1000 =115.2kWh 115.2kWh x $0.1957/kWh = $22.54/month Difference in running cost $22.54 - $17.05 = $5.49 savings/month. Cost of chiller Atman = $600 Artica = $1700 Difference in chiller cost $1700 - $600 = $1100 Break even period $1100 / $5.49/month = 200.3 months = 16years! However please note the reliability of the two chillers More cooling power is good also on super hot days when you will be praying that you have a more powerful chillers.
  2. You have to take into account the rating of the bubble king. If you take a H&S and deltec that has the same rating as the bubble king then you'll see that the bubble king is more value for money. Power consumption wise the bubble king also wins hands down. But the H&S and deltec do have their advantages like more easily avaliable spares etc.
  3. In order of priority. 1. LFS owner is friendly and no attitude problem. 2. sps are good 3. price is reasonable and not anyhow hamtam one. Point 1 hor if no good buy already also "kept sim"
  4. You gotta go see that in person. The photo do no justice
  5. Upzzz for Panzz. $250 for the setup? Might as well throw away and don't sell lol.
  6. I already died today........ Must think of tatic... target one particular enemy and finish him off.
  7. I am Losmandy, help me, transfer gold to me lol....
  8. Are you using any extension socket? Maybe poor quality and that could cause what you're experiencing. Try plugging it directly into the wall socket.
  9. Simon, I apologise too, maybe misunderstanding. Always happens when we talk behind a computer screen. Anyway Moorish Idol don't anyhow accuse pple of ganging up okie
  10. You expecting $10-$20 one then say so lar.. Too much "bird bird sound" is no good Why don't you state the price you're expecting so other pple have a better understanding and will not lead to misunderstanding???
  11. don't "meh meh" too much lar.. later become a sheep. Dunno what price he expecting too since $50-60 still too high.
  12. Got 1 for sale at $60 collection in Haig Road.
  13. BH, impressive frags, especially when I see them in person. please post them again 3 days later.
  14. I can only say for things that I've tried out as usual, be it whatever filtration methods, lightings etc. IMO if you have good results with a particular method then there is no reasons to change it and most of the time that particular reefer would not want to do so. Stability is the main key in getting good results.
  15. Judging from the way my rics and other LPS grow, I guess zeovit has no problems with softies and LPS.
  16. Riot, you should plug into socket 1 and socket 3.
  17. Berlin in the past have problem with NO3 because they don't have so good skimmers then. Now with good skimmers, NO3 are less headache.
  18. Base on what do you say that? Again based on what do you say about the power consumption?
  19. Growth form and thickness of stem can depends greatly on the flow and lighting.
  20. Didn't know there's another reefer staying in the same block lol.
