  1. If you want to reduce the number of return pump due to heat issues then putting the pump externally will help in a way.
  2. Very chio, it's not that purple, cool.
  3. Linkinpark, wow that's a lot of growth for 3 months cool...
  4. DA, okie lar, I just trying my best. Posting photos that shows the corals as close to what I see with my eyes as possible
  5. Growth sequence for rics. Feb 04 to August 05
  6. Another growth sequence, yellow humilis from PR. 2nd April 04 to 25th Sept 05, 18months.
  7. No lar cos you keep changing their enviroment like rescape or move away their favourite spawning spot so that's why they never spawn. They need very stable enviroment to start spawning.
  8. The blue tang looks a little underfed (flat stomach) better pump it up didn't know got stupid doggies running ard lol, nice doggy btw.
  9. You sure those are ich? It has been proven that freshwater dip do not have any effects on ich. Test was conducted by freshwater dripping some fishes for 8hrs but the trophont on the fish body are not affected. Even what you said is true, there will still be tomites which will hatch from tomont which will attack the fishes. Unless you are performing freshwater dip on a daily basis else I don't see how it'll work.
  10. Yours probably need more time to pair up then start to spawn.
  11. This is for DA. Got it since end April 04, should be coming close to 18 months.
  12. Golden polyps one like taking it's own sweet time to grow. Might have "accidental" frags as I will be rescaping few weeks later. Here's another growth photo. Pastel purple tip milepora from WS.
  13. 11th month growth on this (right of AT, still kicking )
  14. Judging from the frequency of needing to clean the glass, your PO4 could be in the region of 0.06ppm which might also explain the cyano. Somemore you used NSW for water change which would have certain amount of PO4 in it. The seawater around us are just way too polluted Couple with the fact that you used weipro which is not so aggressive in skimming so that could be why you could not battle the cyano. If I were you, I'll try to fix both but seems you already done so by cooking your rocks etc. Keep us updated, maybe it's gonna take a while to see the effects.
  15. found it. There you go. Taken with my camera phone so poor quality.
  16. lol.... i see wrongly... tot really 10ft long lol... 10" large wow must be very chio, did you take any photo? That time i was in Arizona and saw in the Arizona mills (shopping mall) they had two large display tank and they got tangs (naso family) that are 1ft long. No camera with me then so didn't take any.
  17. hopefully those 10ft long tangs are not keep in 10ft tank. Hmm... really got tangs so big???
  18. And you think the ex-banned shop price was not normal? I'm afraid very soon your "not-normal" pricing gonna be normal. So what to do? stop buying, heng my tank is full lol.
  19. Basically a lot of work involved. I had to removed my DSB which was acting as a huge nutrient sink. With the DSB the PO4 reading always hovers around 0.06ppm. I had a tunze 6080 at the bottom prevent detritus from setting down. All my base rocks are lift off the bottom so there is not dead spot in those unaccessable area. This either keeps the detritus suspended so the skimmer can take care of them or collect the detritus at one corner in the tank where i can siphon them out weekly. Weekly water changes with RO/DI water. The zeovit stuffs this had help kept the nutrients low too but it must be applied correctly else you don't see the full potential. Basically I find that as long as you keep the tank clean then the nutrients will not be a problem for you.
