my teco TW6 runs non-stop when the 2x250w MH lights up and is able to maintain the temp at 26 degs (set point 25 degs) for my tank 4ftx2ftx2.5ft. Once MH off it runs another one hr to bring the temp down to 25 deg. Then compressor off and another 3-4 hrs later run another hr. If this is too small then I need to upgrade to 1.25hp already.

my current 4ft is using 12mm, seeing the thick glass makes you feel safe and can sleep without worry that the tank will crack while you sleep. Did you guys noticed that most of the tank crack always happen at night?

you also loose all your hardwork setting up the tank etc. Then if you get a new tank you've to redo the sand, rockwork etc? Not worth it. Better go straight with a proper tank.
