cham.... I setup a drip system and took abt 3 hrs to acclimise them to the low salinity, hopefully not too fast lol. Great advise from both of you.

I guess only add copper if the fish already have ich. Else I just quaratine for 2 weeks with lower salinity will do. Should I raise the salinity back to normal levels or just leave it at 1.016 for the whole of 2 weeks? Sorry if I sound too lor-sor, just want to make sure don't make stupid mistakes.

If NO2 is not 0 means cycling not over and not recommended to add in LS at this moment. I did not add in LS in my tank even when the NO2 drop to 0.01, I waited one more week after it dropped to zero then I started slowly to add LS.

Just wondered if the low salinity is enuff to kill most of the parasites. I will keep the fishes in the tank for 2 weeks and observed like you advised. If any disease has to appear it should appear already. Else should be quite safe. Phew don't have to worry abt whitespot outbreak in main tank if I follow this strictly.

Finally had a 100 litres quarantine tank. bought some new fish. Had adjusted the Salinity to 1.016 in the tank. Should I add copper treatment to prevent ich or just keep the salinity low will do? In either case how long should they be in the quarantine tank?

what pump are you using the drive the EV-240? Yeee... your kopi-O drip out of the collect cup, lost some back to the tank. How many cup of Kopi-O "kao" have you collected so far, enuff for the brothers here?

why don't those that have doubt go do a test with pump of different flow rate then you see if the output is restricted at about 600 l/h??? Then you will be convinced and you don't need to wonder if you should use a bigger pump or smaller pump.

you're talking like 1cm down the sand bed. Once they smell food you'll be surprised how fast they move.

I actually tested the flow rate with a 800L/H pump and 1700 L/H pump. Both gives flow of about 600 L/H. Note same tubing used so head lost are about the same. Best is for you to test it out and see for yourself.

Are they eating? what's the size? How many males/females?

maybe if you know which "hole" it is hiding then use a long needle and "poke" it to death. That's if removing the LR is too troublesome.
