looks like bo piang need to raise already. Probably means I need to buy a open top hood liao. Actually not a bad idea cos can mount the LED and hide a lot of stuffs. No hood means a lot of glare from the MH. However that still does not really explain why need 2.5 hrs to chill down 1.6 degs without the 2x250W MH running. ah 12" from the surface. I think my MH so near means it heats up the water a lot. I might have to think of some ways to get the MH higher and yet won't get so glaring. Maybe stick some oyama paper of stuffs like that at the top of the tank. I wonder how the performance would be like when the lights are like 6" from the surface.

you confirm ML's sand no metal bits? Did you try to run thru the magnet before?

some chillers have built in pumps but most of them do not so you need to supply your own pump.

update, just measured the distance of MH from the water. It is 3". I then tried to shift it higher but very glaring to look from where I usually sit to view the tank. I guess I will stick to 3". If there a great difference in terms of tank temperature when you place the MH 3" or 6" from the water surface? AT probably you should just observe how long your chiller needs to run. I think it's important to actually see the whole duration the chiller needs to run rather than just calculate based on a drop of 0.1degs.

ML ones are clean? How much they are selling. If really confirm no need to search for metal bits and not too $$$ then perhaps buying from ML is better idea.

The one using on the SL's display tank? I think use the glass type more accurate but cannot extend down to floor.

any good and accurate digital thermometer to recommend? The one I am using now is the china made orange one currently selling in the LFS. The temp can jump by 0.5 degs in less than 10sec. Get good one then I can measure the temp in the main tank too.

how abt a small container for the float switch. Then wrap the outside with some foam. That will help to reduce the turbulance. What what is the source of the turbulance? You might like to take are of that? For my side the source is the output from the skimmer where it had to drop abt 2-3" so I let it drop onto a container with foam and it really helps a lot. Now my TUBBY just ON once and stays off for many hrs. Before that it was like yours ON OFF ON OFF many many times.

I just want to make sure I didn't get a defective product. Ventilation might be not great at where I place the chiller but I don't feel like in a oven when I stand besides the chiller. Wait for you when you're free then you help to check the performance heheh.

Your tank so small sure cool down very fast

I also got this same "problem" when I installed my TUBBY. I later relocate the float switch to another location where there is less surface turbulant.

Tested today. Very cooling day today 11:47 26.5 degs compressor on 15:37 25.0 degs compressor off Time taken 3hrs 50mins. This compared to 4hrs 36mins yesterday quite a big difference. Anyone else using 1.25hp Titanium Chiller can do some performance check then at least I know if mine is normal.

my 2 tomato takes care of my two bubble tips. One of them takes one. Then sometimes takes turns on the two bubbles tips and sometimes they go rub the same bubble tip together. But the other clowns are like zero interest. Very strange. But my male saddleback likes the hairy mushroom and sleeps on it. Skunk clown always stay at the top end corner and only comes out during feeding. Very strange fishes I have lol.

it's not even a sales to begin with. Strange, tomato clown loves bubble tip. Saddleback no interest in anything. Skunk clown shows little interest in this purple tip at first then later also totally no interest. True percula also no interest in anemone. Black saddleback clown also zero interest

which firewall you using?

One purple tip anemone to give away FOC. Bought for my clownfishes but none of them fancy it. Please PM if interested. I already remove it and it is now in a basket in my sump. Priority given to the person that can collect immediately. Collection point at Haig Road.

Another thing I going to do is to move all the pumps external. Anyway when the MD55 comes it will replace 2 pumps so that will be min heat introduced from the pumps. Those insulation material can use armaflex, insuflex etc, looks the same to me. Actually for my car aircon I did the same thing and the improvement is quite significant but that could be due to the very much higher temp of the engine bay and the cold pipe being aluminium. For us the tubing are plastic so it is not as bad. Guess I'll check with Dr chill regarding the performance.

my house no one cook in the kitchen and it's more like a storeroom rather than kitchen so it is the coolest place cos ventilation there is so much better.
