  1. Are you really going to make it super difficult to clean the collection cup? heheheh. Seems like now mine also skimming MUD cos was cleaning it last night and had to use water to spray it out, end up came out pieces by pieces. No choice use tissue paper to wipe. You sure no smell? Smell worst than the rubbish dump. Really terrible. I added in a bit of water (2mm) in the collection cup now so hopefully it will help dilute the skimmate a bit and make it easier to clean.
  2. I think he's going for a 2ft cube
  3. whatever chiller you decide to buy pls make sure if the manufacturer states it is 0.5hp then it is really 0.5hp and not something lower.
  4. Taken on 18th March 2004. Dunno whether bleached or colored up.
  5. some SPS pictures. This one taken on 9th March 2004
  6. It say if some reefer here encounters some tricky hard to solve problem, you'll volunteer to pay them a visit to help get the problem solved.
  7. AT, Errmmm.... when can you come my place to solve my problem Just joking...
  8. AT, Oh yes pls blow it up so that I can read it properly. Sorry I a bit cheapskate so don't need to go rush and buy
  9. I loved fishes too and have quite a number of clownfish. Then they came down with marine velvet. 6 of 8 die and now left with 2 tomatos. I tot those two tomatoes are destined to go in my tank too until the big bully 3.5" saddle back clown died and then they recovered from the diease in another 2 days. Must be the aggressive saddle back stressed them too much. So I rather keep the bioload this way, at least I know now it is pretty stable and everyone is happy I still go CF and so tempted to buy the tangs there but the feeling of screwing up my water parameters scares me off
  10. I think other places should not be an issue too. Cos the tunze are high up and I think as long as if the SPS or other corals are not place at that height then the current that they get will be indirect, either bounced from the LR or collided between the output of the streams. Maybe too early to worry about that now. More keen in seeing the SPS color up and I can already see 2 colony showing a bit of color at the tip. Another one shows some purple at the body.
  11. Thanks for the comments and advise bro, however the tunzes blowing at the sps are right across the other side of the tank and the polys are just waving very slowly, is that too strong? The one you saw near the SPS is not blowing directly at the SPS in fact the output do not even touch the SPS, maybe from the picture it seems like it is blowing so close to them. The SPS are in the middle part of the tank while that tunze is at the rear of the tank but facing 45 degs so the output miss the SPS totally. Hoping to keep the tank this way w/o additional LS and wait for the tank to mature. Almost 3 months now since the first LS was introduced.
  12. updated photo. Fishes especially the two tangs seems more "happy" swimming around more actively, perhaps the higher flow now force them to do so. The firegoby also now moving around more compared to previously. Might consider shifting them to the 2ft cube when it is ready.
  13. New toy today. Tunze 6100. Install in tank, fire up and immediately a lot of debriefs gets blown from my LR. Now all 3 tunze (2x6000 + 1x6100) runs in pulse mode. 6100 set between 30%-75% power while the 6000s set to 30% to 100% power. The 3 tunze output are directed at the LR so despite all these flow there is no disturbance to my DSB. Now can see the polyps of my SPS swinging more. Before that with the 2x6000 they just barely move if not at all. Can also see some waves at surface at the part where the 3 tunze output meets. Really like what you see out in the sea. Now considering upgrade one of the 6000 to 6100
  14. rock work is very nice... think gotta redo mine
  15. You can alway use a bigger diameter tubing,PVC pipe, cut down on the elbows used and that should help a lot.
  16. Dimension in mm. Length: 255mm width 170 height 165mm Litres/heure flow H in cm........l/hre 0.................. 6300 100............... 4500 200............... 3000 300............... 1850 400.................400 440..................... 0 Diameter inlet/outlet: 1"
  17. I think Edmund having special offer for the AquaC skimmers now. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=13400
  18. Had a mebner P6000, 6300 l/h pump for sale. This is a made in Germany pump. Not those cheap China chiong ones. Model: P6000 Specs: 6300 l/h @ 0 meter 3500 l/h @ 2m Power: 90watts Max head: 4.4m Impeller is not those blade but rather vortex design kinda like those used in the iwaki pressure-rated pump. Can use externally or submersed. I just use it for one day to drive my EV-240, switched back to MD-55 after that. A very quiet pump. Bought at $250. Asking for $200. PM if keen.
  19. that's the only problem when you set it too dry. When I go away for long trip I will set it more dry other wise I prefer it to be slightly wetter so less "toxic" when I wash it. Have you try to smell the skimmate? Really can puke man. I still need the waste collection cup so I can add carbon and no need to bear with the terrible smell coming out of the skimmer. I think cos mine is open stand so the smell comes out more easily.
  20. normally I just put in toilet then use water flush everything out, dare not even dare to use tissue to wipe
  21. those from the EV-240 are from the foam tower and not collection cup right? I getting them like once every week.
