  1. Does thte $75 includes the bracing? Thought of getting it to blow onto my chiller. The weather is going to kill it soon
  2. I thought one of the LFS is listed as their authorised distributor for Singapore on their web site?
  3. if it's an AC fan then you could connect it to the temp controller then once the compressor runs the fan will run too. This sounds like a good solution
  4. won't octopus finish up the shrimps as well? Sounds like a good idea to deal with those nasty crabs too. I've 2 that has grown to abt 1.5" already. No chance to get them with the chicken essence bottle.
  5. see which hole the bugger lives in then use 2-part epoxy to seal the hole. I successfully got rid of one small mantis this way. Somemore that rock is at the base, impossible to remove w/o stripping my rock work I know I was successful because I don't hear any loud "kicking" noise at night already.
  6. my house is almost a suana if not for the wind blowing in Luckily the chiller is very quiet else I'll do deaf too!
  7. hmm... even with the main lights off, it takes 20mins to drop 0.1 degs. Which means 200 min or more to drop 1 degs after lights off. 4 DC fan? How much power do that take? Good idea actually heheh.
  8. that is why I mentioned measuring the temp difference (delta) and that will give you a very good picture of the chiller performance. No need to sit there for hrs waiting for the temp to drop. I am glad that I have a chiller running. If I were to be on fans I think the temp would have surge to maybe 30 degs
  9. If you see the post on the review I've done on the chiller then you'll note that it just need 2 hrs to cool the tank by 1.6 degs previously but now takes more than 8 hrs to cool 1.2 degs. Improve the performance? I took out one submersed pump and replaced with another one which works externally. Open the windows for more ventilation. If not I think it'll run 24 hrs a day
  10. you meant today? Started running at around 12pm, temp was 26.2 deg now 10:55pm temp = 25.4 degs. Main lights on at 12pm and off at 10pm
  11. depends on the design of the chiller. The difference in the temp of the water going into and coming out of the chiller should meet the specs. Say if it is designed for 2 deg difference at a certain flow rate then you should get 2 degs. If you're getting like 1 degs which is lower than 2 degs then the chiller is not performing to specs. Go check it out and you'll know. In this case your heat load in your tank shall not matter and you can directly check the performance of the chiller.
  12. you must be dreaming too much of the tangs like I do. Always typo
  13. The pH controller works this way. They work in conjunction with a solenoid vavle in your CO2 regulator. Of course there are other ways to implement it but we shall not going into details here. You program a set point where you want the CO2 injection to stop, let say we set it to 7.80, which means when the pH is more than 7.80 the controller will ON the solenoid valve and CO2 will get injected (in the case here into my CR). If the pH valve reaches 7.80 or lower then the solenoid valve will be closed and CO2 injection will stop. It is more of a safety feature I would say. I had this left over from my freshwater planted tank so just use it. It's also a convenient way to monitor the pH of my tank. The brand is denerrle and can be bought at many freshwater planted tank LFS. As for ORP, can buy from SLS too But not the brand I am using.
  14. Taken on 9th March 2004. Added to the tank that day. Taken under BLV 10KK only cos 20KK was not installed at that time.
  15. I referring to this particular acro from LCK110. Got it abt 3 weeks ago and totally brown. Now green green. Taken under 20KK BLV blue. No editing.
  16. Dark luminous green staghorn. Come back, put into tank then realise my other acro from LCK110 already color till same dark luminius green as this staghorn. The normal glass really takes away a lot of color. *hiak*
  17. got this beast from Iwana today. Then it rained super heavy and I got stucked
  18. I really would like to see the results cos if you're successful means like I said before I can dump my skimmer, some of the guys can dump their beckett and just use the RSB!!!
  19. was this spare sump used before and had been left dry for quite sometime?
  20. I wish you had 5 medium tangs (tang police pls don't come & raid her tank). + one dozen anthias. Feeding 5x daily heavy with cyclopeez + 5 cubes of mysis each time Then we see what happens after 3 months. and see if SPS still got color or your 6ft is full of expensive chocolate sticks Junk means I sell it away then get RSB, can save some money and electrical bills, of course if what I wish if possible then I'll be very happy.
  21. errm... fully stocked up like 5 tangs + one big group of anthias in 6ft + 5x daily feeding and still NO3 near to 0ppm (like 0.1 to 0.2ppm) ??? Or fully stocked up means a few small fishes that don't require feeding? A lot of difference you know? If the former then I junk my current skimmer and go for the RSB.
  22. 600cc suzuki can hit 100km/h with probably not much more room to spare for higher speed. WRX can also hit 100km/h but with a lot more room to spare for higher speed. Yes small one can do the job but doesn't work as good as the larger one!
  23. Looks like a 2 litre WRX compared to a 600cc suzuki
