  2. wow... new signature... very chio very chio Wait for my new stuffs tomorrow
  3. AP, thanks for the tips. So for your case which of the product did you use? And for my case like my FOWLR w/o any sandbed, do you think I can use the same product that you tried?
  4. So far I didn't know got bottled bacteria can help with reducing NO3 unless you're talking abt product like AZ-NO3 but that is not bacteria (pls correct me if I am wrong). Those bottled bacteria that I know of only helps with the cycling of your tank. That is why I asked you to share the brand that you found had been useful in reducing NO3 so I can use it for my FOWLR. I do not know everything so what you can share with your 20yrs of experience is knowledge to us.
  5. You should follow the instruction. With the gate valve fully open. Start the skimmer pump. Then close the gate valve 1/2 turn at a time until the water level is at the line recommended (inner platform). Then wait for the skimmer to run-in and start foaming. Then you close the gatevalve 1/4 turn at a time and let it a few hrs to settle in before you tweak it again. You'll adjust for wet or dry skimmate according to your preference.
  6. you should replace the elbow with a Tee. If not a siphon effect will be created and then water level will not be steady in the skimmer.
  7. Which brand bacteria did you use? Can recommend? Sounds like a great for my FOWLR.
  8. The two tangs are still kicking Both photos taken with flash as I've yet install the light. The lipstick

  10. Congrats! Looking forward to another pui pui tang
  11. yeap very true... wow 40cm? that's 16".... maybe 8ft also not sufficient to keep it happy. Wonder how much a 16" sohal cost... definately much more than $300. But get bigger one cannot compare the price with smaller ones.
  12. seems like the larger the sohal the better it gets and of course the more fierce it gets. deepblue your old sohal also very nice. Benz's one is 11" as I heard from him, wonder who bought it. Can hand feed somemore.
  13. That day saw at PM those small sohal all the color got very big potential ones. Wow I also tempted you know But cannot buy liao. Wasted. Hiak... some parasites really difficult to kill one, cling dead to the body super irriating, use UV also cannot kill. Maybe must try ozone liao.
  14. PM got lots of sohal over the weekend. Go take a look
  15. Wow tang signature gotta expand again. Hey nice AP you've there!
  16. we jio you, you got time to come out or not??? Careful, you join us later you get addicted and start to pack your tank with tangs then you got big problem already.
  17. Roidan, your tang fatness is already non normal hor, looking at those super fat tank and the overall condition of your tank already know your setup is top form already. No algae, no cyno etc Congrats!!!
  18. eh.... don't take the chance to show off your tank hor Hmm.... then I should call mine the homeland of the Acanthurus Wow if my tank crash then all my tangs will be homeless just like those poor doggies who owner moved and lost their home, dunno where to go. Poor doggies
  19. deepblue. I agree with you most on this part. Just do what you want and ignore what the rest has to say. We do not need to bother abt how other looks at our tank/setup whatsoever. Some pple likes their tank growing like algae forest, full of cyno etc. It's still their tank/setup. It's not our, not our problem. Some pple loved to stuff their tanks with lots of tangs Also none of anyone's business as long as you're happy. This is the way to enjoy the hobby But of course spare the LS some thoughts, harder to practise in real life
  20. new addition from the same LFS right? Saw lots of it over the weekend.
  21. heheheh you know what I want next already after I get my mini powder brown
  22. bro, wow super chio LPF man. You changed to a new chiller??
