I was told to leave the tank fishless for 2 weeks in a few LFS, was told this will kill off all the ich. I think 2 weeks maybe true for freshwater ich which life cycle is around 3 days. For marine ich we still need min of 6 weeks.

Tunze 6000 can be upgraded to the 6100 by changing the transformer. This should cost you around $100. You can still continue to use your single controller with the upgraded 6100.

For the record, my salifin from CF (was feeding on pellets there) took 1.5 months before it started to eat anything. My AT took around 1.5 months before it starts on nori and finally after nearly 4 months started on pellets. My yellow tang (also from CF) took ard 1 months befor it started to feed. During the time that they have not accept prepared food, they should be fine with just pecking on the LR. If you had lots of LR with algae on it for it to peck then it should be fine.

Can try tropic marin Mg. I tried seachem and don't work so well for me, but was using tropic marin and managed to get my Mg levels to 1300ppm

Definately What I experience is that after you dose seachem Mg and reached a certain conc of Mg the reading never seems to go up anymore. This is only what I experienced. The tropic marin Mg actually contains Ca, Potassium, etc as well. It's said that it won't affect the ionic balance of the water.

I used tropic marin and now my Mg level are ard 1330ppm increased from 1170ppm. I used about 3/4 of a bottle. Before that used 1kg of seachem Mg and only managed to increase from 900ppm to ard 1100ppm.

You can of course but it is back to charging cycle you might blow the charging circuitry due to the high surge current. Car batteries are useless for deep cycling purpose. Get a deep cycle battery
