  1. For me I keep some molly in my quarantine tank just to keep the bioload going. Skimmer is not necessary, a hang on filter will work fine. You may do regular water changes to keep the water in good condition.
  2. 6 weeks after the last spot disappear from the fish or just straight 8 weeks
  3. Prize will be the skimmate from your choice of one of the skimmer
  4. Same acro after one month+ Some growth and lighter colors.
  5. Comparison photo of one fiji table acro.
  6. Algae 4 looks like bryposis... bettter get rid ASAP
  7. Caught them in the act Female lays the eggs then male go fertilise.
  8. lol..... in case pple think I print money, the BK250 don't belong to me. I go to the owner's place to snap photo with his permission one. For interest sake, here's the weipro 2014 driven with a SICCE extrema. Really can tell the big diff.
  9. I don't have an access to any other type of skimmers except my other weipro 2014, maybe the rest with other skimmer can chip in. Just stick a ruler to the main chamber then use your digital camera, focus on the ruler and snap a shot with flash will do. I expect the H&S one to look like the deltec's as both uses similar technology.
  10. Too early to reveal the results. Weisoon, any comments on why you ID that way?
  11. BTW: The photos are not in order. The bubble density and size is just one factor that determines the performance of a skimmer. We have to take into account the "dwell time" aka "contact time" which depends on the volume and flow thru rate of the skimmer. The other is how efficient the skimmer is, takes how much power to run.
  12. First time you heard of PO4 leaching from the substrate and LR? You can do water change yet the PO4 will not seems to go low? Because they keep leaching from the LR and substrate so it will take sometime before you can get rid of these algae.
  13. Some salts also contains PO4. So the type of salt you use also plays a part. Dipping your hands into the tank will leaches PO4 into the tank so wash it really well before putting your hands in.
  14. First I like to apologise as I sound like an old man already 1. There's two way to deal with ich, one is to just leave it and pray and at the same time feed garlic etc. 2. The other way is hyposalinity or copper. 3. And of course using some unproven reef-safe medication. Usually some pple try 1. and then wait and wait and the ich gets too serious, by then if the fish still kicking then they try to apply hyposalinity treatment, at that stage already too late. Remember the hyopsalinity do not target the parasites attached to the fish, more parasites will still affect the fish. So want to use hypo then do it ASAP
  15. The 3 skimmers are Bubble king 250 external Barr Aquatic Dual beckett SK6000 driven by MX70 Deltec AP850 running on 1 ehiem 1260 needlewheel.
  16. You'll still need to leave your main tank fishless for 6-8weeks in order to make sure all the ich dies.
