Patrick did you dump the Mg and the kH buffer at the same time? Best to wait for at least 24 hrs after you raise your Mg before adding in kH buffer. You'll need to raise your Mg back to normal levels before raising your kH. Do not raise your Mg by more than 20ppm per day.
-
Overskimming will not deplete Mg. Using Kalk for water topup will deplete Mg. Feed better food like good pellets and stay away from stuffs like mysis and you'll have lesser waste and fatter tangs. Having an efficient skimmer will reduce the load on your biological filtration. When your biological filtration cannot handle your bioload then you'll see your PO4 and NO3 slowly creep up. Remember more feeding also increase bioload as well.

Around 6 months old. Asking for $400. Avaliable for immediate collection. Please PM if interested.
-
It's all a matter of bioload and tunning In fact is my skimmer is self-draining I would prefer a lighter skimmate so that skimmer will work better, don't need so frequent cleaning of the neck. Sign.... no money buy self-cleaning head, even got money, deltec also don't have the self-cleaning head for his model.
-
Now my only feeding is about 10 NLS pellets each time for 2x a day only. Even lighter feeding. I get darker skimmate cos the zeostart at work, still reducing the pooled nutrients in my tank else I think also skim very light skimmate like yours.
-
You feed dead sea mud for your tank is it?
-
Your skimmate looks lighter ah Somemore your collection cup is 12" diameter and skimmate level higher so the color should be darker also. I think too free tonight already, skimmate also want to talk As long as the skimmer can keep the water quality then it is a good skimmer.
-
A bit difficult to compare directly. But the skimmate from the deltec stinks
-
Yes... I washed the collection cup before I went to work in the morning ard 8am . Then this photo was taken abt 8pm. Zeostart really gives a lot of skimmate
-
Doing some skimmer test. This is few days old photo, too busy too post. My deltec AP850 after 12 hrs. Testing on my 4ft. DSB starts to kick in (my 4ft coming to 1yr anniversary Dec 24th). See lower right corner of the DSB, turning black already. The right side of the tank has bigger black patch.

BARR Aquatic Dual beckett for sale.

Just fired up. Noticed the clear down tube for easy tunning and john guest air valve for easy adjustment of air intake. No cheapo orange ball valves which are difficult to adjust. Another John guest fitting at the bottom for CR effluent input or Ozone. Not shown is the central tube which further extends the contact time. The down tubes are 2" dia and together with central tube extends the contact time greatly and this will skim out all those nasty proteins. -

Some photos. This skimmer can be broken down for easy maintenance. Collection cup can be removed easily without any tools, those that buy the beckett that needs the tools to remove the collection cup will know how tedious it is. Just turn the thumbscrews, twist and remove the collection cup. The joints have gloves cut and are sealed with O-Rings for leak proof. -

Since so many request for the MX-70. Here's the price break-down. Dual Beckett = $550. Iwaki MX-70 = $400. I will sell this as a package, the MX70 will only be avaliable only if the beckett is sold. -
purple color refers to the color at the outer rim. I have my yuma proprogate on their own and they show this metallic green color while the frag is growing. After sometime it will just turn to the same color as the outer rim Maybe you get a GEM that is different
-
Sorry to break the bubble. The Metallic one is showing this color because it is growing from a frag After fully grown will be that purple color liao

Weekly LFS Report (13 Dec - 19 Dec 04)

I didn't check the price I think quite competitive. -
Linkinpark, wow very very nice table even after 2 months. Stage 1 refers to just starting the zeovit system where the nutrient level is high and you are trying to get your corals to the enviroment where the nutrients level are dropping. Stage 2 refers to a low nutrient enviroment where there still still binned nutrients in the reef system and you are still reducing/exporting the binned nutrients with the zeovit system. At this stage you will still be dosing zeostart to keep the PO4 and NO3 at undetectable levels. Stage 3 refers to the state of your reef tank has reached a stage of low nutrient enviroment where the conditions are like in the natural. All the binned nutrients has been removed and you do not need or need just very little zeostart to keep the PO4 and NO3 at undetectable levels by testkits. The bacterial population would be able to keep the PO4 and NO3 at undetectable levels and the system has reach a stage where it is able to export all the imported PO4 and NO3. This is how I understand, the experts here might like to correct me if I am wrong.

TS12 can be upgraded to TS24 by just buying the tunze 6100 alone. Then TS07 can be upgraded to TS24 by buying the TS12 and the 6100 transformer and then the person can sell the single controller
