  1. Zeovit refers to the whole method. Zeolites refers to the rocks used in the zeovit method.
  2. It is both. The basic zeobak/zeofood/zeostart have to do with bacterial. This system works by using bacterial to reduce/maintain your system in low nutrient enviroment that is smiliar to NSW (natural seawater). They also have supplement to enhanced the coloring in the corals as well. You might like to read more in the RC captive ocean forum. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthre...threadid=481355 You can buy zeovit stuffs from ocean planet.

  4. You want to bring your refractometer to my place to confirm the accuracy?
  5. With copper treatments you'll have to monitor the concentration of the copper carefully as copper is rather unstable in high ph solution. Too low concentration and you can't kill the parasite, too high and you kill the fish. Copper is also toxic to fishes just that the dosage required to kill the ich parasites is lower than what's needed to kill the fish.
  6. your monkey shot turns out so sharp that everything also can see
  7. Macro algae in your refiugm requires a certain level of nutrients in order to thrive. The zeovit system will lower the nutrient levels to such level that the macro algae will melt away eventually.
  8. That is the reason why they recommend to use the GAC in a passive manner so the absorption rate is slow.
  9. Better go confirm if your salinity is correct in the first place.
  10. No need UV. I would still think that it is caused by too high salinity. Or are you sure that those dots are ich in the first place?
  11. I drip DI/RO water. I think got slight difference but should not affect the reading that much. Just thinking what could be wrong for you.
  12. Did you calibrate your refractometer or double check with another one to verify that it is accurate? In my tank the ich always disappear after 3 days.
  13. You sure the way he used to measure the is accurate and his tank water sg is really at 1.008?
  14. bo piang..... everyday AT crash with salifin. No ich right and eating like pig heheheh
  15. 6" super fat Zebrasoma desjardinii for sale. Askng for $25. With me since May '04. Eats like a pig. Self collect in Haig Road. Interested please PM. To be collected by 30th Dec 6pm. If not I have another place to dispose this fish.
  16. Here's the air flow for my deltec AP850 7 l/min = 420 l/h. This is the operational flow.
  17. Robin, You never state the size (volume) of the reef tank. The flow rate thru the sump. The amount of nutrients in the tank also will affect the skimming as well.
  18. IMO best way is to remove the rock and scrape them outside the tank. Don't even try pluck them in the tank cos that will release the spores and it will spread even more. You can try a foxface rabbit fish, might help.
  19. Bad in main tank, good in sump but still must make sure don't spread to the main tank
  20. Cleaning sandbed means just to clear up the very top part of it. You can also improve the water circulation which should help too. As for changing 25% of the water, it is to help export the nutrients and to lower the NO3 and PO4, you mention you have 5ppm PO4? This is way too high, doing 25% water change will not have to drastic effect to your reef tank especially when the nutrient levels in your tank are so high.
  21. 1. Clean up your sandbed. 2. Clean up your sump. 3. Do regular water change at least 25% every week. 4. Improve water circulation 5. Better skimmng. 6. Reduce bioload. 7. Add rowaphos 8. Get of the bioballs and canister filter.
  22. I meant 3000 mm (three thousand). Using my telescope Whole thing mounted, too heavy to carry with hands.
