  1. Saturation of dissolved oxygen in fresh water at 26 degs is 7.99 mg/l. At 30 degs is 7.59 mg/l. The diff is abt 5.2% Not too great diff.
  2. Then you cry + cry. Cry first cos lots of micro bubbles in the main tank. After that cry again when RD up lorry. End up RD get blame for being unrealiable
  3. If the outlet piping is of reasonable size and do not create too much back pressure then it would be quite safe to use it when the inlet has no great flow restriction. I just wondered how many red dragon spoilt because of piping restriction at inlet. Remember if you use a ball valve then even if you use D40 ball valve then the internal is already one size smaller, so you need to use the next larger size D50 ball valve in order not to have any restriction.   4. Your RD inlet is D32 and outlet D40. If you read the warning properly, RE says if pump damaged due to restriction in the inlet then warranty is void. http://english.royal-exclusiv.de/installat...dragon-pump.htm You can use the siphoning method but due to the long piping and few elbows then you need to upsize the piping one size to D40 or even D50. Like what the rest suggest better run it in-sump.

  6. You can put a strong light above the sump and check if there is any micro bubbles in the water. If not then the air could be caused by other reasons like leakage from the piping.
  7. Place the sponge in the compartment after the skimmer outlet will solve the flooding problem. The Tee is necessary to prevent siphoning effect so the water level in the skimmer will be consistant.
  8. Outsump also no difference. In this case either use sponge or design the sump properly to handle the flow.

  12. Use your water topup reservoir and tubby as feed for your KR. So when your tubby kick in, it dose kalkwasser instead of freshwater.
  13. They might not have stock, so please call before you go down. Go get some 4/6mm teflon tubing (short length will do) then you can connect the needle valve to your regulator already. If cannot find let me know in advance cos on leave the whole week so need to go back office take

  17. There you go. Went to dig my old thread for the photo. I am using the stainless steel model which cost double (around $190), you can get the brass one which is around $80 which will work equally well for our application. You'll need some fittings to fit the needle valve your regulator, we can meet up and I can pass them to you.
  18. Getting the needle valve is cost cutting measure but I have no complains going this route as that completely solves my headache of tuning the bubble count compared to using those cheapo stuffs. If you want to get the bioplast regulator then you can go to "system and control engineering" not sure if I got their name correctly. Better stop your CR in case too much CO2 dissolved inside and caused then main chamber pH to crash and turn all your ARM into powder.
  19. If you go the needle valve route (option 2), then you can get it at around $88. Can get from Singapore valves and fitting. I went this route as well, no issues of adjusting the bubbling rate, can easily adjust down to one bubbles every 2 secs to as high as 10 bubbles/sec (haven't try anything higher than that). Whereas if you get a complete set of 2 stage regulator with solenoid then be prepared to pay ard $200+ or more.
  20. This is single stage regulator with no needle valve for fine adjustment. You got 2 option. Get a good 2 stage regulator like the bioplast, dennerle etc. Or get a good needle valve (add on to your current regulator).
  21. Very easy to dismatle one but too lazy to go source for new bearing so I just dump the stupid pump and go with an iwaki
