  1. The APF600 runs off the AquaBee 2000/i with modified needlewheel impeller which draws 38W. As it is an out-of-sump skimmer, a separate feed pump is required. See the milky chamber caused by the high bubble density, no photographic tricks or deliberate overexposure WYSIWYG
  2. Here's where I set the water level (see red arrow) with the needlewheel pump off. Will readjust slightly after breaking in. Air valve is set to 1 O'clock position. You can see the flange which makes cleaning the collection cup so easy, just twist and turn. No messy nuts to remove and re-tighten after that.
  3. Fired up and still waiting for it to break-in. Feed pump is SICCE Extreme which was previously driving my weipro 2014 which the APF600 replaces. A ehiem in-line ball valve is used to adjust to the correct flow.
  4. After being very satisfied with the performance of my Deltec AP850 running on my 4ft reef tank, I decided to order it's younger brother the APF600. This is the 3rd smallest skimmer on the deltec's line of external skimmers. I received it from EAN on 18th Feb, a little lazy so only set it up today. I decided to do a review for the benefit of other reefers who might be keen in this skimmer. Specification: Heavy Stocking 750 Ltrs (167gals) Normal Stocking 1000 Ltrs (222 gals) Water Throughput: 800 Ltr./ h (178 gall/h) Dimensions: L: 280mm W: 210mm H: 600mm Bioload currently consist of 4 2-3" fishes.
  5. Reef builder dosage is 1 teaspoon (5ml) for every 150L and that will raise the kh by 0.7 dkh not 1dkh
  6. I supposed you're using the Seachem Reef Carbonate? I've no details of the volume of your tank so we assume about 400L. The recommended dose is 1capful (5ml) per 80 gallon (302.8 litres) will raise 0.25meg/L (0.7 dkh) You add 1.5capful so that only raise abt 0.8 dkh. Have you tested the dkh before dosing and after dosing to ensure that your dosing is correct? Probably you need to dose more actually. What you need to find out is after 24hrs (before dosing) did your kH reading drop or can be maintain, from there you work out the actual dose needed. btw dkh of 7 is not dangerously low, it is close to NSW levels. I run my reef dkh at 7
  7. Can you give detail of the following: 1. Brand of test kit. 2. Your tank dkh reading. 3. brand and type of addictive. 4. The amount of addictive you're adding. Have you tried measuring your Ca too? Should be dropping as well.

  12. newly introduced and starting to explore their new home.
  13. The Tee will replace the elbow before in goes into the sump.
  14. Heres the Tee you want.
  15. There you go. I didn't glue the outlet, too lazy to go get a union Straight off the skimmer. The D32 piping happens to fit the cheap local JIS 25mm pipe, so I enlarge it to 30mm.
