How thick is the tank wall, esp the bottom piece if possible? U might want to use a 5 to 10mm thick foam or if u juz want to ease ur fears, u can also put a plywood under the foam, a 4 to 6mm thick should do. For plywood, try those carpeter workshops, chances r higher. There's a few in the industrial area behind SAFRA Tampines or at Depot road, where CMPB is. Price of juz a plywood should be about $30 to $50 with laminated top and side. Should be cheaper if without laminate.

Hi dun think can really say that cuz it might affect the well being of the fishes on the long term. I've saw a list of which marine lives need what chemical compound in particular but that doesn't mean that the marine live dun need other chemical to really flourish. U'll still need to bother abt the rest of the chemical till certain extent.

Hi AO, Juz a suggestion... u might want to think about what u want to keep in marine? Cuz what u keep, does in a way makes a difference to what basic and low end to extra and high end equipments are needed. Like for my(can take a look in memebers tank forum) mixed reef and without SPS or demanding corals, I've got a a chiller, a H&S skimmer(smallest model of this brand), a DSB refugium, 8 T-5s, 2x Maxijet and 2x Eihem powerheads connected to a Redsea wavemaker for current. Hey I also from freshwater fish/planted tanks to marine, mixed reef ;-) Both have their beauty, I must say.

What is the size of the other clown? Do take note that when pairing up of clown, pairing up chances is higher if one is half or smaller the size of the bigger one(which is or will be the female). I've tried this 4 times and all 4 times, they paired up after some initial chasing and fighting. I've tried it on True Percular and Golden Strip Maroon(Spin Cheek) and one pair of the TP even breed at least 6 times.

Hi minireef, U might want to consider some of the good skimmers on sales now in the Pasar Malam section. I'm using a H&S, quite a good one. The other thing u want to think abt... May want to lay a seperate power supply to power the tank and it's system or having a parallel circuit with UPS. Totally free u from worrying of a power failure. Will your water change be frequent? Can be quite a headach if it's far from water point. Having a mixture of MH and HO T5s is best (too bad I only have 8 HO T5, limited by power outlet) In home aquarium, MH shouldn't be on for too long. As mentioned by Jervis and also can lead to high electricity bills. If tank depth is 2.5ft and beyond, a 250W MH is a minimum to really illuminate to the bottom and giving a shimmering effect. A general rule that I observed from home aquarium and LFS setting are 1 MH for every 2ft. Well I guess individual preferance also play a part. Anyway MH should be used to simulate noon time sun light(2-3hrs) and IF POSSIBLE, not used as the only lighting. While HO T5 white, actinics and blue ones can used to simulate from dawn and dusk. A timed wavemaker giving a low current at nite and high current in day is good. Best if can create a high and low tide too but think so far no one is simulating that... actually I'm thinking of doing that... haha. Happy reefing
