  1. U meant the glass maker near to GO isit? There are two there but the one nearer to GO is the one that make tanks. Saw their workmanship and I've got a tank from them before too. I would said ok, worth it for the price. The lady boss who is also the tank maker is very friendly and like to chat too.
  2. haha, that's why I said I have yet to hear before mah Go for pygmy angels lor, very nice too like Flame Angel, African Flame-back, Brazilian Flame-back and Marshell Isle's Rock Beauty which is much deeper/brighter in colour compared to those that's in our region.
  3. eh your tank might be too small for tangs unless u can get a "pygmy" tang which I have yet to some across U might wanna try pygmy angels though.
  4. Sorry to said this... but after reading what you've put here... I think you really need to re-think abt keeping this hobby if you've got not much time to spare due to whatever reasons. There is some basic to having a hobby esp in fresh water and marine reefing. U'll need to monitor some basic like SG, monitor the LS health conditions etc. Topping up water is good but regular water change is require as you need to remove some "old" water from the tank which is concentrated with waste and bad bacteria etc. Dosing supplements is require cuz marine is different from fresh water tank. Marine does involved slightly more chemical compound like Strotium, Iodine, Calcium etc beside the normal Nitrate, Nitrite and Phosphate which the later 3 can also be found in fresh water. This chemicals can be remove by the skimmer and consumed by corals too so if you don't dose them, basically they'll be used up and skimmed away leaving literally salt water behind. Your LS and corals will def won't do very well in such conditions. If you don't want to do dosing, can. Do weekly water replacement. That is the old way of keeping reef tank and it does work. But the water must be from a trusted source. Either buy from LFS or mix it yourself. Water direct from the sea might be full of good stuffs but it does come with bad stuffs too, which we won't know what they are. Once again, I hope I'm not putting you down when I said if you've got no time, do re-think abt keeping this hobby. Every hobby needs a fair amt time to keep it going and successful. Cheers
  5. U've got ur ans from Glim18 I do water top up weekly or once every 2 weeks, depends. Amt is abt 6 cups (those small plastic green mugs). Of cse I add supplements too on a weekly basis. Nowadays I tried to do a 2-3 pails of water change too, monthly.
  6. Ha, I dun test water perimeters, am a very lazy hobbiest but I do frequent water chg and cleaning of tank to make sure all are ok. Nano 9002 is $190. Considered good for a skimmer of it's size.
  7. did u experienced fatalities only after the new refugium is set up?
  8. what happened? share some infos here and might able to help oh.
  9. wow u really new to this fishy hobby eh Fresh water from tap lorz, some reefers uses some other filtering gadget prior to the top up, to further purify the fresh water while some add chemical to remove compound like Chlorine etc. For me... I juz top up direct from the tap bcuz I only top up in very small quantity. Boiling not require.
  10. Sand sifter gobies are good for what their name are given... sift sand lor. It's how they feed on the micro-organizim and at the same sift the sand to prevent algae growth. For Purple Tile fish... guessed it juz another nice fish to beautify the tank
  11. Reefaholic > U want shows ah... go to the cinemas lorz, plenty of good shows there... Spider Man 3, Shriek 3 and many more

  17. Bgrking > Wrong post to ask general questions leh This is Member's Tank and Spec forum and u've posted it in my thread some more... BTW they feed on mysis, liquidfied coral food etc.
  18. In short, it's a mixed reef tank Usually for refugium, the DSB is abt 6 inches. More live rocks do help in breaking down of unwanted waste but included the live rocks are really "alive" and housing bacteria lorz. No lights... not too sure if it's good anot. Any other reefers can commend on this?
  19. A close up of the elephant ears.
  20. the other halio. The 3 BTAs on the left are really small ones.
  21. Exiled > It's really Elephant ears, maybe when they puff up, I 'll take some pic again. The other clowns are now hosting the 2 crispa. This two days, the big maroon keep disturbing the crispa, sweeping them here and there.
