  1. yes 16k version, you are right bro, i do not turn on 100% on both channel as that will definitely bleach my corals since i have a shallow tank. my max peak % is A:60%, B:80%.. that pic was taken late at night when my B is much higher than my channel A, thus the blue look..
  2. Agree with what you said regarding the light spread, thats why certain fixture like evergrow which uses 2 red on 2 different spot will have this problem, especially if tight lenses is used. from what i know, maxspect razor uses warm white which supplements more than enough red and green and yet do not get such disco light spots. what light set u getting anyway?
  3. my tank's just 4x2x1.2ft actually.. WC i do 15L weekly (5%), you'll need to get a RO/DI or 3 stage DI filter if you planning on corals. tap water is a no no for reef tank as it contains lots of impurities that will feed algae. cost is minimal since i use my own 3 stage Crystal Pro DI filter with Red sea coral pro salt. topping up with DI water too from my filter.
  4. or run rowaphos in a TLF 150 reactor, whats ur po4 level? nice tank and great choice of light anyway!
  5. ur nitrate is 0 and po4 is in reasonable range, you do no need to use nopox, may even have bad effects.. i personally do not like 0 nitrate, i keep mine at 2. you should feed more or your corals will starve.
  6. from my understanding of carbon dosing, mainly it reduces nitrate, phosphate not so much.. i would suggest you to continue running rowaphos.
  7. Thanks! anyway anyone spotted any purple fire goby @ ah beng or iwarna?
  8. I used to surf a us forum where a led 'expert' bashes radion and AL for the use of cool white with multi colors (red and green) instead of warm/neutral white. That's why he mentioned that other than DIY-ing his own LED, the only led fixture he will consider buying is maxspect razor. I personally will only buy razor led for its full spectrum and very reasonable price. I personally uses razor but my tank is too young to determine whether the color will hold for long, but my mili with brown scaling did color up and is pink now.
  9. Hey guys, i have a 65g (48x24x14") shallow mixed reef and im looking to add 3 - 4 anthias.. never kept them before should i would like to start with something easier and less costly.. i've narrowed down to either Blue eyed anthias or the Dispar anthias.. are they difficult to keep? i feed 2 - 3 times a day.. Thanks!
  10. Live sand dry = to dead sand. Same goes to live rock.
  11. Xenia is easy. And spread like weed. A single stalk can branch into 3 within 2 weeks.
  12. Go for the biggest you can afford. And don't go for HOB if u can make ios. You'll have to get hang on skimmer if u go for hob. Good ones are BM E3 or deltec MCE series.
  13. I've seen a lot of successful sps tank with leds (mainly radions, razor, Al, evergrow) and their color looks amazing. Both local and overseas forum. led are definitely able to grow and color up spd IMHO.
  14. woah.. seems like theres still some surviving parts, maybe u can frag them out and hope for the best.
  15. If your using IOS, then HOB/canister is not needed. infact they can become a nitrate factory if left unclean.. i used to use a big HOB for my 34L tank and there was once i forgot to clean for about 3 weeks - a month and my nitrate was 10ppm. after cleaning (lots of yucky gunk), nitrate gradually drop to 5ppm or so.

  17. Thanks, i have no regret upgrading to my current 4ft shallow tank.. you'll soon find yourself upgrading too! enjoy reefing!
  18. I used to be in freshwater and planted too! started with a 34L nano tank and just after 6 months, decommed my 422 altum tank and went full marine. im not sure about the pump flow rate but you sure can improve the circulation by using wavemakers. i personally use the razor 160W for my 4ft tank and the nano will be great for your 1.5ft cube.
  19. 1) 45cm cube is a great tank to start, if can go bigger 2ft cube even better, generally the bigger the better, as for a 1.5ft cube braceless 5mm will be way too thin. at least 8mm - 10mm. 2) IOS will be a better choice compared to HOB, if can, custom make a sump will be even better. 3) If you are going IOS, get the bubble Magus Nac3.5 4) par38 is fine but you'll probably need 2 for your 1.5ft cube. you can consider the Razor Nano which will be a much better choice.
  20. beautiful! they looks expensive too hahaha.
