  1. the cherry LED dosn't seem to be able to cover a 2x1ft foot print. with that budget probably those Ebay 120w led system? you get full spectrum and you can keep SPS with no problem. Get those with dimmers so you can lower down the intensity. If you want really nice and sleek looking LEDs theres only the Razor.
  2. thanks bro, i waited for months for midas blenny too!
  3. great start, but i doubt that aquazonic lighting is gonna be enough for even a LPS+softies tank. if you got the budget, can consider the Maxspect Razor 120w 16k. (500+) if not can just get 2x par38s with 2 dymax astro holders. If not a simple aquazonic 4x24w T5HO with 4 ATI tubes would be enough for your tank.
  4. Some updates : Flame angel from Ah beng last week.. started eating frozen food the next day. http://s961.photobucket.com/user/fissiden/media/fissiden015/DSC03925_zps837f5e81.jpg.html'> My pair of true perc, paired up within a day. http://s961.photobucket.com/user/fissiden/media/fissiden015/DSC03931_zpscfae53f4.jpg.html'> Midas Blenny http://s961.photobucket.com/user/fissiden/media/fissiden015/DSC03934_zpsebb64bc0.jpg.html'> Cheap but cute chromis http://s961.photobucket.com/user/fissiden/media/fissiden015/DSC03938_zpsbd9da185.jpg.html'> Yellow tang http://s961.photobucket.com/user/fissiden/media/fissiden015/DSC03940_zps8f9d06e8.jpg.html'> 2nd try with cleaner Wrasse, eating well on Frozen brine shrimp.. http://s961.photobucket.com/user/fissiden/media/fissiden015/DSC03945_zpsff68d4de.jpg.html'> nice gold-rimmed purplish crocea http://s961.photobucket.com/user/fissiden/media/fissiden015/DSC03946_zps85a1f138.jpg.html'> Waiting for the new Razor 200... http://s961.photobucket.com/user/fissiden/media/fissiden015/DSC03954_zps168a07bb.jpg.html'> FTS : http://s961.photobucket.com/user/fissiden/media/fissiden015/DSC03919_zps894e7c90.jpg.html'>
  5. wow amazing... totally breath taking! all the awesome SPS/Mix Reef keepers are all at the west!
  6. Grats on your upgrading! since you have a tight budget, here's some suggestion from me : Equpiment list Light: E.Shine Aqua Beauty 70W LED Light ($350) - Go over to Eshine website and ask the sales rep about buying from them instead. i think the 70W version is USD100+ and with 30+ USD Shipping fee. total should be around 200 SGD only. but u losses the warranty. their price are much cheaper compared to local retailers. Skimmer: Probably a 100L skimmer (Any recommended brands?) with your tank size, a Bubble Magus Nac3.5 sounds good enough. Chiller: Hailea 100A (bought for $170, 6mths old) Chiller pump: around 600L/hr (Any recommended brands?) Go for rio, though alittle more expensive, but its very energy saving.. uses probably 1/4 the wattage other pump uses for the same output. Return pump (How big should this be?) go for the best, probably a 1000 - 1500l/hr Eheim pump. Current PAR 38 3B 2W for refuge Will be using Current nano tank water pump as a wave maker 1 220l/hr and 300l/hr (Enough?) Definitely not enough. Get yourself a Jebao Wp25 and a dimmer or a universal adapter to tune it down.
  7. Clearing some light sets : 1) Brand new Par38. - 9 x 2W BridgeLux LEDs - Neutral White 5000 - 6000k - 120 degree optics change of idea of a project so letting this go. You can get a Dymax Astro Light and use the holder. http://s961.photobucket.com/user/fissiden/media/fissiden014/20130928_141825_zps9b76c87e.jpg.html'> http://s961.photobucket.com/user/fissiden/media/fissiden014/20130928_231317_zpsd54938c3.jpg.html'> Selling at $35. 2) Greemelements 6x3W LED - 4x cool white - 2x 455nm royal Blue Used for 2 - 3 months only. each day only on for 1 - 2 hours max since its mainly used for me to view my sump. So LEDs are still considered relatively new. Bought at $65. Selling at $30 3) 4ft Kenis 2x55w PL light. bulbs are spoilt but ballast should be working fine. great for those who wanna get to DIY LEDs. casing is still relatively new, http://s961.photobucket.com/user/fissiden/media/fissiden014/20130928_182514_zps3e256ff9.jpg.html'> Selling at $15. 10. wow, Zetlight advertised as the first in the world to have it.. Didn't know AI has it.. Infact those tunderstorm mode etc etc has been proven fatal for fishes, many reefers have their skittish fish jumps out when the tunderstorm mode comes online.
  11. i think the new Zetlight is the first fixture that can dim from left to right to simulate sunrise and sunset. and also to simulate clouds passing by. Cool features but don't think it is in anyway beneficial to the corals.
  12. wow didnt know my personal comment started a flame war over here (actually flaming me alone) I would like to apologies to thread starter, FOWLR and other reefers who were offended by my comments. Yes, no tank is ever big enough for any of our fishes and my 4x2x1.2 is definitely too small for a blue tang, thats exactly the reason why i sold it the moment it hit 2 inches, to a reefer who keeps a 5x2.5x2.5ft tank. that comment i made is not directed to anyone nor the 2 beautiful tanks posted by TS. its just a personal comment about cramping fishes into a tank. once again my sincere apologies to everyone whom i offended here.
  13. Sounds like me when u said that Bro! But don't worry your 4x2x1.8 is a lot bigger than most people who keeps more fishes den you. Can see your blue tang still got plenty of spaces.
  14. Yes, but too big for your small tank. edit : my apologies, the Flame angel are more like 1.5 - 2" big.
