  1. Definitely better than eggcrates! and eggcrates may cut the fishes if there's sharp edges not polished after cutting. Kit kat is really nice! but the color probably wont hold for long.
  2. just walk in from bus stop. very near to pinnacle/Ah beng
  3. Forgot to post this : Clams corner Zoas corner Frags corner! replaced those ugly looking egg crates with "floating" LR finally land my hands on a duncan!
  4. Tank's been up for around 7 months now! This post is mainly to record the growth/changes/color of some sps that i gotten from the start and some, few months ago. Some got better, some got worst. Current Parameters : No3 : 10ppm (yes 10, used to be at 2 then went up to 5 and now 10. Strange enough i have much better colors now despite higher nitrate levels) Po4 : 0.03ppm (used to be 0) ca : 400 kH : 7.6 - 8.2 Mg : 1410 Potassium : 400 Lots of SPS photos showing before and after : My first SPS, tri-color Birdnest. was half dead when i got it. went in when tank was only 2 days old. After 7 month growth. and couple times of fragging. growth was really slow at first. it got quick about 3 months ago. Next was this pink birdnest. Growth was ok, pretty fast all the time. Kept for about 6 months Green Bali Slimer. went through a few fragging too. growth is pretty fast. color changed a bit. When i first got it around 3 months ago water condition can be gauged with this sps. months ago when i was constantly rescaping the tank, color dropped till the skeleton was totally white, with green polyps. Now its back to full green. Tri-color Valida. Small frag i got also many months ago. purple came and go.. when i was rescaping, it was brown with green polyps. Base fully encrusted, starting to send shooters out. color is deep purple now. Tri-color valida colony. aquacultured colony. Bought totally brown as an experiment if i can bring back the color. This was taken in august. brown with little purple tips. Deep water acro. bought with a nice intense green. Growth was much faster then expected.. just a short couple of months. Color kind of washed off and gained a little purple to it. a nice teal-green millie. color was pretty dull when i just got it. Now, one of my fav! Everybody's fav is here. Radioactive birdnest. went through many fragging. growth is fast! really nice rose red millie when i first got it. color gradually faded to totally brown color starting to come back now. but really slow. The rest shows some new/latest acquisition Strawberry shortcake frag icy blue tort Blue tenuis red millie Kit kat end with a FTS from about 5-6 months ago. Now : Thanks for viewing and sorry for the pics!
  5. Thanks man! i see your tank's doing very well too!
  6. coral florescence will be violets (410-420nm) and royal Blues (455-465nm). Most led fixtures have at least 2 channels (white & Blue) try turning on your blue light only and you'll see beautiful "artificial" colors on your corals. If you want to add some nice (but expensive) "pop" to your current lighting. Can get the Ecoxotic stunner strips (RB + Magenta). other alternatives would be to DIY.
  7. nice!! one photo can see alot of nice zoas and sps liao!
  8. Have another unit of par38 to sell. Basic Info : 12 x 3w Bridgelux LED. aluminium heat sink plastic housing easy to remove (to change/remove lenses) LED : 2 x Warm White (3000k) 1 x Cool White (8000k) 4 x Violet ( 410 - 420nm) 5 x Royal Blue (455 - 460nm) The violets may look dim to our eyes, but are VERY bright (in terms of PAR/PUR) to the corals. its a very important wavelength/spectrum that the corals need for its growth and coloration. And some fixtures (even the branded/high-end ones) do not have violets (in the range of 410 - 430nm) in their fixture. Great to use as add-ons to fixture which : - Only uses white and blue combi, add this to widen the spectrum. - Uses red/green colorful leds. especially with lesnes, some corals may not be able to absorb/receive the spectrum since lenses narrow down the spread of the led. Warm white on the other hand have red/green in them and therefore has better spread. - Fixture that lacks violets. lots of fixtures up till date does not have violets. solo use : may give off a purple hue and some poeple may dislike it. suggest you remove the lenses off the warm whites and the violet and that will give a more balanced 20k look. Light comes equipped with 90 degree lenses, but they are removable as well as interchangeable by removing the plastic lid. Do note that the unit im selling is BRAND NEW, this unit i took apart is my own personal unit cause im using without lenses. led color. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/2013-11-01213009_zps28839301.jpg.html'> My personal unit i remove the lenses off the warm white (for better spread) and changed the lenses to 120 degree frosted lenses on the violets.
