Which LED lightest will you use?
Evolutionz replied to Boonboy's topic in SPS and Advanced Reefkeepers Forum
Ok la, mine not hanged so tall. Honestly the only led I will consider changing to is the reef breeders photon 32.the altanik is nice but one is not enough for my tank. I'm happy with my razors though! -

Indeed. The altanik v2 is a very interesting and new led. I guess they'll work since its from orphek. Would rather put my money on this. -

Don't understand why they still stuck on to cool whites (which are almost unless. Mainly for our eyes pleasures) warm whites and neutral whites should be used instead. Reef breeders led (AKA evergrow) from USA (China) are having the best spectrum now. With use of neutral and warm white as well as red, green, cyan, Blue, royal blue, true and hyper violets. One of the few cheap led fixtures with really good spectrum. -

Alk too high and mg a little low. I'll try to target 8-9 dkh and 1400mg -
Yes. Recently very little to almost no small clam or crocea shipment.

led go for the pharos if you really deciding on this 2, the led lifespan of the g2 is really poor. if not, go for the razor Nano. -
most likely bleaching, leds are very strong and does not seem as strong to our eyes.. i also increases 5% a week till i get to my high % setting.

overkill chiller is ok. great looking set up! maybe can consider getting a 4x ATI/Delightings or Solite (individual reflectors type) T5 light set instead of using 6 aquazonic?

Cloudy water during cycling
Evolutionz replied to Kamarudin Ariffin's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Nice tank btw, ur one of few new starters who have such patience to wait for the full cycling period to complete. Kudos to that! -
Cloudy water during cycling
Evolutionz replied to Kamarudin Ariffin's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
I use completely cured live rocks (from reefers) and new live sand. Transfered fish and corals over from small tank to big tank from day 1. Honestly never even cycle at all. I start adding spa just one week after set up. Of course this is not recommended for new starters. Most newbies buy rock from farm. Which are not cured. And I take extra precautions to make sure everything is okay. -

Did anyone know what is my Snail doing??
Evolutionz replied to Gideon's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Don't think we can breed them right? Seen a couple times of them doing the same thing and clusters of eggs on glass walls but never seen any baby snails before -
I set mine A:80% B:100% for 8 hours at this level. Hung 17" above water level over a 4x2x1.2ft tank sps dominated tank

hey people, so my maxima which i keep for a pretty long time suddenly decides to stay half open. Just happened that a newly introduced yellow coris wrasse was hovering around it all day and pecking at it's shell. i was busy and didn't thought of it having pest pyramid snails. So an hour ago, i finally got the time to take a good look at the clam's shells and gosh, there was at least 30 - 50 of those tiny snails! and at least a couple hundreds of eggs. so i spent the next half an hour scrapping out all the eggs and removing as much snails as i can. those deep inside the shells i went on to super glue them, which will probably kill the whole clusters hiding. The thing is, my last introduced clam was a crocea which is probably few months back. all were very healthy and this problem only came to light after the clam was half close 2 days ago. the snails were probably brought it when i introduced some frags or some sort. a cluster of snails on the top right side from the flash light. i glued them up. Hopefully this will kill them. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/20131125_234157_zpsf935c2ec.jpg.html'> hopefully those eggs/snails i missed the wrasse will take care of it.. got to check on this fella every few days.. hopefully this wont stress it too much. Guys, check ur clams! even if they were looking healthy.

Red Ruby Dragonette (Successes and Failures)
Evolutionz replied to cutebarra77's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
They are indeed the same as Mandarin. One piece should be kept in at least a 50g tank. This should provide sufficient pods if it doesn't want to feed on frozen. Best if u can train to feed frozen but it's pretty much based on luck. -
