  1. Hey fellas! sorry for the long overdued update. Its been more than 3 months since i started using reef vitality. my overall experience is that it indeed does helps wih growth! as for keeping nutrients down. not so much. Probably because i have been underdosing all the time.. i was supposed to dose 1/2 cap every 4 days. i dose about 1/3 or slightly more each time. i do occasionally gets white patches (STN/RTN) on my sps, not sure if its associated to this. i would continue using this as i noticed some of my small tiny frags which has been stunned started growing after i dose reef vitality.
  2. Basically I followed the link Victor posted. There is a chart at the bottom of the page for you to follow. I started slow and slowly rise to currently about 15-20ml/day. Do not that you should not exceed 1ml/gallon. Dosing vinegar would result in white stringy bacterial films. But that's easy to remove and better than algae! And do note you also need a powerful skimmer for the vinegar to work well. As for which vinegar to choose. I go for heinz distilled vinegar (the glass bottle) there are a lot of other vinegars out there some are artificial vinegar. Not sure if those will work so I stick to current one
  3. I did the same. Never fail before. I also drill 2 holes
  4. Sorry missed ur thread! You can Google about vinegar dosing for reef tank . I'll post more details about my set up later.

  8. With a 2ft depth. The new lenses don't work as well as the original. It's not really am upgrade but rather another option. The original lenses is needed for viruses 2ft depth penetration.
  9. Even with chiller. Evaporation is much greater compared to freshwater. I probably top up about 10l per week to my 250l tank. But I have a huge surface area of 4x2 feet.
  10. Currently there are no proven reef safe medication that cures ich Most effective being copper. However many had success with just feeding with garlic and maintaining good water. But also must remember ich will always be in ur tank from now on. It will only be gone if you leave ur tank empty for a couple of months.
  11. I hand dosed my 2 part for the first few months of my tank. I dose about 0.8dkh a day. I try to separate into 2 times a day so that means around 0.4dkh increment straight. Which isn't really good for the Sps. I didn't get good colors back then. And it was troublesome too!
  12. recent catch http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC04743_zps3992174d.jpg.html'> doing well and feeding on pods hours after into DT http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/20140120_230526_zpsc801de95.jpg.html'>
  13. thanks man! i actually pasted the black background last time to try and improve sps color viewing from the front. i do prefer the clean back ground look! thanks! the razor isn't the best out there but definitely the better ones! im awaiting my 120 degree lenses!
  14. yeap! if get 5kg from gemsurf cheap & good. iwarna sell smaller pack better for me.. 1kg pack i think can last me a long time.
  15. can the auto cleaner support up to this tank's thickness?
  16. Let's all focus on this amazing build and jaws dropping size guys! Got to be the biggest reef tank in Singapore!
  17. I use dosing pump with food grade bicarbonate powder. Low kh (not ridiculously low) is not a big problem.. But problem comes if you raise your kh too fast.
  18. Sometimes my kh drop to 6+ and my Sps seems fine. I do of course slowly increase it back to 7.6
  19. I lost a few anthias and my beloved midas blenny too because of my shallow tank!
  20. Canister would require you to watch the filter at least once a month. Any longer and ill be a nitrate factory. As for lighting. 2x par38 would be enough. If going for t5. A simple 4 tube aquazonic set would be sufficient for easy corals.
  21. Very nice shallow! Indeed fishes are prone to jumping.. But I'll still do without the net!
