Thanks bro. Update: Bought 2 packs of live copepods to seed the tank. Turns out to be too much and fishes were having a great meal! http://s961.photobucket.com/user/fissiden/media/fissiden036/IMG_20141123_124042_zps9b1acf73.jpg.html'> Day 9 of set up, 9 vials of Biodigest had went in at 1 vial/day. I often advice people not to keep any sort of tang if tank is smaller than 4ft. however it's OK to get a small one if u have a smaller tank.. But to keep a blue tang (no matter how small) inside a 6 gallon tank is pure cruelty. I know you wanna try it out but the truth is, there is no try in this.. Its a big no no for sure and tangs are alot More sensitive compared to fire fish too, not forgetting those tiny blue tangs are only for professionals to try due to how fragile they are. No hard feelings, we've all been through this. I have a 3ft tank and I want to add a yellow tang but I know it's too small for it and I have no choice but to resist my temptation. They grow way too fast then you will ever expected. Hopefully you think more about what I said. Cheers

You did not use any carbon? I wonder if the chlorine and cholormine present in our tap water will affect the quality of thr resin.- 17 replies

Thanks! Fishes are already in from day 1. Eating well! The light in the sump is meant for just viewing the sump! i starts running AIO Biopellet today with the Alpha 2

Thank you so much! Indeed will have lots of room for corals and yet lots of room for fishes too! Thanks! Great idea about that Thanks! Its working pretty well creating waves on W1 mode. I have 2 return line that is probably returning at least 2000l/hr (probably more) of water per outlet. This is providing majority of the flow.

Heres a tiny update.. Skimmer churning out yellowish skimmate.. probably due to low bioload at the moment. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/IMG_20141121_224737_zpse241b428.jpg.html'> Due to the space taken up by the overflow compartment, a big space were left empty at the back. wiring are not hidden and looks hideous.. one and only place to find both live ones, LCK201.

welly, thought you mentioned you only want to view other people's shark tank when you created that thread? So you cant find any shark tank to view now you want to keep one in your tank? There's a reason why there is no shark tank.. nobody in the right mind will keep shark in a 5.5ft tank. I can tell you 11ft also not enough. The rest is really all up to you whether is morally correct to torture them.
-
Tonga like rocks are from iwarna, tonga branches are from lck201.. How ever they are only left with single or double branches.. Spent nearly an hour there and i cant find any bigger pieces that are multi branch

Update: Tanks has cleared and has transferred corals and my 3 fishes into this tank yesterday night, Midas Blenny was seen eating pellets moments ago. Also dumped cured live rocks (from my previous tank, in the tub) into sump to help cycling. Been dosing biodigest daily. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/53f64209-6b7d-4bac-ad5a-42f72ca9211e_zpsec5c0369.jpg.html'> http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/9b7c9a50-461b-4c70-bc29-ed94692784dd_zps4dbfd461.jpg.html'> loving the grains of this sand. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/e3ca1b93-bd1e-49ef-b358-9bb5f0e9d681_zps04924008.jpg.html'>

Thanks guys! @Harlequin, Yes i do have plans to do that, but not for preventing water splashing though.. right now i've tuned the overflow to be just slightly below the water level so it flows down very quietly without splashing..

Updates: Starting to fill up with DI! http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07753_zpsdc3ecc4b.jpg.html] almost done.. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07754_zps6fc0310b.jpg.html] sump http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07760_zps5ec28809.jpg.html] I actually used about 70% of the water from the blue tub (from the first picture), and the rest are using new DI water with Skizm Pur reef salt. Dumped 40lb worth of fiji pink salt (loving the grain size but not the amount of pink it has!) and now awaiting for the water to clear. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07766_zps6271cf11.jpg.html] The amazingly quiet overflow. Great for surface skimming too http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07770_zps2798a522.jpg.html] Here's what the skimmer has been pulling out after 1 hour of break-in! i believe its the cloudy water caused by the live sand! http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/IMG_20141116_162748_zpsa2f65a61.jpg.html] Will be dosing prodibio Biodigest 1 vial/day for the next 14 days. Thanks for viewing!

Update: Missed out this photo, a rough idea how to do the rockscape, get the longest zip ties, don't save up on the epoxy esp on areas that supports the base and also area that is overhanging! http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/IMG_20141112_234755_zps6f2b9120.jpg.html'> Now, its actually my first time buying almost all of my equipments brand new and im very excited about it! Here's my new Skimz Monzter Mini DC SN123, Very well packaged with detailed instructions on how to assemble it. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/IMG_20141112_203326_zps0b54a225.jpg.html'> http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/IMG_20141112_205956_zps1b1a8dcd.jpg.html'> Doing a vinegar wash and upon firing up, it immediately starts to foam and it was pretty amazing how well it foamed even it was just vinegar and water. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/IMG_20141115_004942_zpsaf4523d5.jpg.html'> The controller offers a couple of speed but i guess i will just leave it at the max, the 10 Minutes feed more is great for when feeding corals too! http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/IMG_20141115_005001_zpsba8e1611.jpg.html'> Now, the interesting part is this 'gate', this controls how much water leaves the skimmer body and thus, allows the adjustment of the water level in the body. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/IMG_20141115_010952_zpsbdf3ad7f.jpg.html'> Next is this amazing pump! the Jebao DC 9000, as per its name, its 9000l/hr which is wayyyyyy too overkill for my tank. But since its controllable, why not get the bigger one! It will be T-ed off to my chiller as well as 2 return pipes. One great thing about this pump is how it slowly starts up over a minute to minimise splashing! Its also almost dead silent even running at full speed inside a red sea salt pail! http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/IMG_20141115_011050_zpsfbfe0ded.jpg.html'> Last picture for the day, Here's the sand i'll be using! http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/IMG_20141109_173238_zps6c41ab11.jpg.html'> My apologies for the bad picture quality! thanks bro marco!

Thanks man! Absolutely no problem! i just have to grab the base and its actually just one whole piece, there is no way to alter the look of the rocks now. its literally a carry and go rockscape. Patiences is key and zip tie + epoxy + Glue is also key. Thanks! i cant wait too! Far from Mr Kang la! Alr pocket big hole liao where got $$ buy box! empty box can la! Really need alot patience though! Wah the thought of doing it again very scary! some rocks had to be chiseled away so that it can fit into certain parts and to achieve certain shapes.
-
U mean the floating part ah? I wanna leave some empty space so i think im gonna leave it as it is!
-
Lol! Feed epoxy and glue! Ahahahhaa

Amazingly beautiful bro! Love that pair of clowns too!

Update: Today is my final touch up on my rocks and its finally completed! First off, 3 base rocks were epxoyed and glued to create a stable base, 2 support branchy rocks were used to build up the foundation of the scape. You can see i used newspaper and masking tape to map out my tank so i am sure that the rock scape can fit. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07657_zpseebbeb0c.jpg.html'> Next, 4th base rock was added and i start to do the branching out part. It was really difficult from this point onwards. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07658_zpsbd33dada.jpg.html'> Next, Rocks and zip ties were used to support the branches that were hanging in the air, They were given 24 hours for the epoxy to dry and harden before i continue my work. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07661_zpsb9c44858.jpg.html'> A picture showing the base rocks, very stable and solid, Kind of an arc shape design that allows fishes to hide in. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07680_zps186af577.jpg.html'> Oh well, most part of the scape were completed the next day and i had forgotten to take a picture before i move on to attaching the tonga branches. So this was the almost completed scape. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07667_zpsd4342cd1.jpg.html'> Today i did the final touch up on the rocks. nothing much difference from the picture above but small tonga branches were added. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07675_zpscfcd44d1.jpg.html'> http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07682_zpseb053308.jpg.html'> http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07685_zpsdaf2b04b.jpg.html'> http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07688_zpse9e7db90.jpg.html'> All in all, i spent a total of approx 7-8 hours scaping the rocks! 2.5 tubes of Aquapharm Epoxy, 1 tube of Bondite, 1 tube of Epo putty and 2 tubes of BSI Glue gel were used to complete this rock scape. The rock scape also consist of 4 base rocks, 5 main supporting rocks and 8-10 medium to small tonga branches. The scape measures 70x25x25cm and the overhanging portion hangs 20cm above ground. Overall, im quite happy with the scape and wished i had more time to hunt for more suitable and branchy rocks! Thats the end of my update today, and my tank will be arriving in 2 days time! Thanks for viewing!

And if your using 300l of water a month. Suggest you go for RODI instead. More economical
