  1. Yes if its not Velvet can slowly increase the copper dosage, many things in the tank can absorb copper.. copper itself in high dosage is also lethal to the fishes so got to be careful!
  2. I dip every single corals that goes into my tank, also inspect it for eggs/bite marks. Does not matter who and where it came from, always better to play safe!
  3. I got it 2nd hand from a reefer, There's a couple online store like ReefMarketSG that carries them, or you can purchase them directly from Qianhu who is the distributor for red sea. I believe a brand new RSR 170 is about 1.2k.
  4. Check out the Red sea reefer 170! i just got one recently and i absolutely love the quality and design..
  5. 2 species of Anthias i had great success is Dispar and blue eyes.. purple queen is best left in the ocean their survival rate long term is as good as 0. They also need to be fed very often with very nutritional food..
  6. Singapore's tap water are relatively clean.. i used to use tapwater for LPS/softies only tank and had no algae issue.. you can always run a refugium to counter any nutrients issue, and they produces lots of pods/micro faunas that will benefit your fishes too.
  7. Upz for u, nice to finally see zoas for sale taken under white light.
  8. Looks like u did your homework and had a good start! Soon you'll sink so deep you will never get out..
  9. yes, what you did will definitely reduce nutrients, if you are facing high no3 and po4, can do carbon dosing too. Either with commercial products like Redsea NoPox or vinegar/vodva.
  10. Day 43. So i've been dosing Microbe-lift Special Blend since day 1 and has recently start dosing small quantity daily, diatoms are almost gone and corals are looking great! Give this product a try if you're battling algae issue (esp cyano), though they have been increasingly hard to find! Did a little DIY using corrugated sheet to cover my overflow since the Noopsyche's holder is too large for the original cover to fit properly. I'll have to re-do it once i get my 2nd noop. Finally got the time to set up my doser, man i love this Jebao 3.4 wifi doser! its super easy to set up and very accurate, the app works wonder as well. If it has the same reliability as its predecessor, there's really no reason for any of those expensive dosers. I'm currently dosing vinegar for carbon, Tropic marin carbocalcium and tropic marin bio-magnesium (trying to get it slowly up to 1300) I'm starting to get a layer of green algae on the rocks. After some research, they might have been green coraline algae since they are not slimy nor hairy. Well i do certainly hope they will turn purple soon if they are indeed coraline algae. Also bought some SPS to 'test water' and its been about 4 days and they are still displaying good PE. Red stag, Valida and purple pocci Some beautiful zoas as well! I'll finish today's update with 2 FTS. Thanks for viewing!
  11. i use red sea salt with DI water and i usually mix for 15-30mins and it willl be ready for use.
  12. You're absolutely right! Mind sharing roughly how many % ur hydras are running at, at their peak?
  13. Amazing! What's the dimention of your main display? 2x Hydra 52HD and an Orphek led bar seems plenty of light for such a tank size!
  14. Unlikely to be velvet since velvet kills pretty quickly and has a golden dust layer on it, looks like brooks to me too.
  15. Price drop for both Jebao SLW-20M wave maker and Oase Optimax 2000 to $70 each!
  16. Looking good! Nice to see someone using the same light as me!
  17. Thanks! The algae scrubber is from taobao, just search UAS or ATS and you should see this white round one for sale.
