  1. seems like you got pretty bad algae problem, no3 po4 at 0 or low level is probably due to algae consuming them.
  2. I think iwarna do sell Di water. Get a 3 stage Di unit like crystal pro can liao. No need rodi
  3. did you put the resin in properly and connect the hose correctly? i remember the first time i got my crystal pro 3 stage i didn't place the resin cartridge in correctly and the water wasn't passing through the resins.. if its correct you should check your TDS meter.. i can loan you my TDS meter for you to test since we live quite near.
  4. from what i know, bleaching of corals should be about its brightness and par levels, not the color of the led.. i may be wrong though.. and white leds appears to be brighter to our eyes compared to the blues/royal blues. so some may think that the 10K is brighter but its not.
  5. 16k gives a more blueish color while 10k is more white. from what i know for SPS, blueish = color, white = growth. boils down to what you prefer.
  6. thanks bro, since you already got the tank, you'll be saving quite abit already. more water volume is better too.
  7. i think 12 - 13hours is the max, since thats how much they get in the nature.
  8. i personally will not go 2ft deep.. i prefer shallow tank. Your 422 freshwater tank may not be thick enough for a marine tank too.
  9. They can get to 7" if I'm not wrong.. Yes 1-1.5 inch can be kept in your tank but I just think it's morally wrong to keep them in a 1ft cube. No offence.
  10. Ah beng has a tank of Blue eye anthias and irwarna has a tank full of hawaiian Barlett.
  11. Thanks guy! Just bought 3 blue eye anthias from ah beng.
  12. get a simple 3 stage DI filter. i use crystal pro 3 stage filled with 1 carbon block and 2 resin block. connect it to my kitchen dishwashing area everytime i want to use and i get 0 TDS.
  13. need to buy new tubes = 6 x $30+ = about $200 FR + biopellet = $150
  14. i used to use a g2 too. my lighting regime was : 130 royal blue ON, 230 not so bright white on, 430, rest of the bright white light on, 1030, bright light off, 1130, not so bright white off, 1230 royal blue off. this at least gives some sunrise/sunset effect to it.. i only keep the majority of white lights on for 6 hours because i have a very shallow tank and worried corals might bleach.. since yours is a 2ft cube, can consider going longer period if you are keeping sps.
  15. think need at least twice the budget if all go brand new. all 2nd hand may be able to hit around 5k.
  16. Water Cooling units have been use for high wattage (30 to 100w) multi-chip led before and you can probably use that if you got the parts.. But you'll still need very good heat sink.
  17. I personally thinks 0 nitrate is bad. I maintain my nitrate at 2ppm..It's never good to strip the tank too clean.
  18. wow.. lion fish no matter how small they are should never be kept in such a small tank..
  19. hard to find really good heatsink (need fans too) that can handle the heat. i think its better to go for fixtures readily available.
  20. i personally prefer a blueish look too but my sps color is similar even if i turn on 100% on both channel. you will probably be much happier if you bought the 16k in the first place. i initially wanted to use 4 tube t5 for my tank too.. but every 6 - 8 months must change 4 tubes abit chor for me. @sunnymau, think i saw orphek at henry's shop and they look great.. your tank looks great with the nilus too!
