Cleaning of skimmer is very important. My deltec mce 600 I bought 2nd hand and I forgot to clean it when I first used and week by week I got "clearer" and less smelly skimmate. Took out the skimmer last week and gave it a good wash. Within a week I got black gooey very smelly skimmate.

Looks a bit like sundial snail.. Which is a zoas eater..

Since reef vitality helps to accelerate the uptake of nutrients. Could it be that the water nutrients was stripped and caused bleaching of sps?

shouldn't have any issue just probably can see more algae due to the nutrients. more heart pain for your expensive RF acid! hahahaha

RF acid is amino acids? IMO unless you're tank is already pretty full with corals, theres no need to be dosing AA into a new tank. suggest you can do partial WC and run your skimmer wetter to skim out the AA.

Suggest u change to salifert for N03 and ca as well as they are very important readings too. And get salifert kh too

i have mine in my 260L tank too.. pulling out some real good gunk. How about tunze 9004?

I also lost some SPS color as well : 1) Blue acro (1st pic) turn from bright deep turquoise to now a pale turq color with brown polyps. 2) dull green Stag turned totally brown for about 1mth+, now starting to see a little color coming back after recently ramping up light intensity.

Usually people don't run 2 skimmers. It may reduce the efficiency of both skimmers.. Nice skimmate from ue red Sea skimmer don't think you'll have to run the QQ anymore..

Can try ebay.. I've not yet seen any sg lfs sell this yet. IMO ill rather pay more to get a bm qq.

I've researched about this skimmer before. Seems like if with good tuning should be able to get not bad skimmate but most people complain on micro bubbles issue which they have no idea how to fix it.

Yeap it is suppose to run only when the fixture is getting warm. i have to put my ear really close to hear if the fan is running.. really quiet! my fan only turns on when my fixture reaches its peak out put at A:70%, B:90%. Thanks! will post more if i got new addition

ur tank 2ft depth dont use aquazonic fixture. Use ATI fixture if you want to go T5.

The 160w will suffice but will be even better if u supplement it with t5.but use quality bulbs like ATI and not the aquazonic bulbs. Incorrect spectrum or early shifting of spectrum will give u algae problems.
