maybe your tank too clean liao nothing left to skim

when i first started using razor after changing from maxspect g2 170w to the razor, my max intensity is A:50%B:70%. once or every 2 weeks i will ramp up 5%. Our LEDs, T5 or MH no matter how strong will never be able to be as strong as our sun. So IMO, we can run 100% on both channel with no issue but acclimatization is very important. end of the day i might run A:85% B:100%. As i believe this will improve both color and growth.

If i remember correctly : 12PM - A:1% B:40% 2PM - A:40% B:60% 3pm A:65% B:80% 5pm A:70% B:85% 10PM A:75% B:95% 1230am :A:0% B:0% so my tank experience high intensity from 3pm to 10pm.

Thanks bro, its rated for 700L and my tank's only 260L.. guess thats one of the reason why i have black skimmate.. but the design of the skimmer requires more cleaning. i also tend to skim on the dry side.

their color looks washed. IME for LPS, if white skeleton start showing, quite hard to save liao. i have lost some green candy cane and acan once the white skeleton starts showing.

last time my 34L nano i top up 1.5L everyday really cannot tahan. now my 260L 4ft shallow due to large surface water movement by my wavemakers, i still have to top up 1.5L everyday despite chiller.

find out which skimmer perform better for you (darker skimmate) and stick to one IMO.. they both still share the same water. Anyway your 2 open brain coral looks bleached.. probably lights too bright. shift them away from the centre or under some shade.

personally i'll keep sg at 1.024-1.025. and do read up on the effects of running 2 skimmers, i would say your deltec is good enough. nice scape and neat sump anyway!

height will depend on personal preference and also depending on what corals you want to keep, taller tank requires much more intense and stronger light to hit the bottom of the tank. Full blown SPS tank also requires better lighting. 100 for a 3ft is ok. Crystal glass will give u better clarity. refugium is good to grow pods and macro plants. pods feed fish like mandarin dragonet. Get the bubble magus curve 7 for your 3ft tank, slightly less than 1/2 of the skimz price and performance is good. We usually buy reactor to run Rowaphos or other phosphate removing media. since you only aim to have mushroom and soft corals, you might not even need any if you keep your fish bioload low enough and change water more frequently. Once again, since softies coral are in your mind, probably a 4tube normal t5 fixture will be sufficient for 18" height. but if you're willing to pay more and possible upgrade to SPS in future, get a maxspect Razor 160w 16k. Not sure about that but wavemaker is probably one of the most important thing. since yours is a 3ft with softies, get a jebao wp25 will do.
