  4. Check out Randy's 2 part. Google it I follow the dosage and I get stable kh and ca.
  5. I just called madpetz. They told me must buy one whole cartoon 90+ pieces den have bulk purchase price. Didn't ask the actual price though.
  6. 50cm will need optics imo. 90 degrees one. TV (not uv) are expensive but worth it.5-6 pieces should be enough
  7. I'll join if got good price for bulk purchase!
  8. No problem bro, what's ur tank height?
  9. What's your tank size? yes zoas extending out long is an indication that theres not enough lighting. If your tank is more than 21" tall, i suggest changing out your g2 to a better fixture like the maxspect Razor. Reason being : G2 uses SemiLed While Razor uses CREE Leds, studies have shown that cree led output is alot higher than China made LEDs, meaning you probably need 5 SemiLeds to have the same output power of 3 Crees. Razor uses 90 degree optics while G2 comes without any optics. SemiLed's LEDs have a spread of 120 degree, without the optics, you'll likely lose ALOT of PAR when it hits near your tank's bottom. G2 LED getting old, how old is your fixture? Yes many company claims that LED can last 10,000 hours or 10 years but in actual fact they cannot last past even a quarter of that. Actually one of Maxspect G2 major flaw is that the SemiLeds tend to give away (melt away or dim down) once it hits 1.5 - 2 years. Those that hit near 1.5years will have their led's optics melted away (usually its the violets that go first). I suggest if you plan to go for SPS in the near future, its probably time to upgrade your fixture. Either to a Maxspect Razor 160w, or you can consider other fixtures. Given the fact that you uses the 170W G2, i guess your tank size will be at least 3 - 4 ft long. You can consider the AI Hydra or Ecotech Radion Pro but you'll need 2 fixture for both since they dont cover as much. If you plan to stick to softies or don't have much budget to upgrade, you can also simply add a 2 tube (individual reflectors) T5HO fixture to run together with your g2.
  10. first we must know what is your tank size. Next for corals, 50 : 4 W:B ratio is not meant for marine. From what i understand, there is currently a debate regarding white light being useless to coral, they are simply to balance out the blue light to make it pleasing to our eyes. i would suggest a combo of : 20 RB, 10 B, 10 NW, 2WW, 3 CW, 5 420nm TV RB = Royal Blue (455nm) B = Blue (465 - 485nm) NW = Neutral White (5000k - 6500k) CW = Cool White (8000k - 10000k) - Generally "useless" WW = Warm White (3000k) Fills up the spectrum for red/green etc etc TV = True violet (420nm) IMO, there is no need to add in red/green or any other color LEDs if you used neutral/warm white. Infact thats a better mix compared to cool white + red/green LEDs. Violets are just as important as any other LEDs and although its very dim to our eyes, its actually very important and bright to the corals. With the above mixture and with the correct tank size, you would be able to grow anything from softies to SPS. However if you insist on just Softies a simple combi like this : 30 RB, 10 CW, 5 NW, 5 TV. is enough. You can adjust more RB or more Whites to your own preference if you prefer a whiter tank, but the general guideline is 2RB:1W for the perfect look. I hope this helps.
  11. i agree with angmoh. Go with artica if cost not an issue. If cost is an issue, go for haliea 1/2hp. Teco performance is good but abit noisy IMO.. reliability wise should be artica first, then teco and haliea.
  12. What's Left : Sunset millie and lime green monti.
  13. why not? its been proven that LED does color up and grow SPS. Brands like Maxpect Razor, AI Hydra, Radion Pro, Orphek, GLH Mitras and Reefbreeders/Evergrow LEDs fixtures are all capable of growing/coloring up sps. just that some are much more expensive and some are best of the buck. IMO the best LED fixture out there is the GHL Mitras (which i think is the most expensive too). But nothing beats LED + T5 hybrid. Like the ATI LED Powermodule. Or DIY.
  14. Thanks! As of now, all poker chips frags are reserved.. will update if anymore left. What's left : sunset millie (only 2 frags left), lime green monti (2 frags + 1 bigger piece).
  15. What's available : Sunset Millie, poker chips zoas & radioactive zoas frag and lime green monti.
  16. either from your other sps colonies or its been there all the while. Those non-hairy type are good and they ensure the acro colony is clean since its their home.
  17. zeovit CV not much difference after dosing for a few weeks. right now i got myself a bottle of Polyp-lab polyp booster and will dose this instead of CV. See how it goes.. u mean you feed daily 3 - 4 times with oyster feast?
