  4. Here's a new update! the past few months has been really hectic and my tank got neglected. it went through phrases where i did not do water change for a whole month, the kh & ca dosing bottle was empty (kH was at 6 at it's lowest!) and failure to clean skimmer and pumps. All these led to bad water (nitrate peaked at near 20) and some SPS died while some lost it's color. its been a few weeks of recovering and they appears to be stable now. Start off with one of my personal favorite. This has been with me since it was just 1" big. now its almost palm size. However i started noticing it was having this red patch of cyano (seen in pic below), i thought nothing of it and conitnued my hectic schedule. Not until it was too late to save then i found out that the underside had totally STN-ed. It was beyond salvage.. Well thought the tabling part died off, im glad that the base of the colony survived! im back down to a tiny frag but im so glad i still have a piece of this unique sps. If you guys have seen my previous pages, i showed a photo of my lime green monti on my return pipe. This fella STN too within 12 hours, i managed to save couple of frags and glued them together, excited to see them grow in the way i glue them! Back to the rest of the surviving frags! My first SSC, finally i see branching growths! another SSC, from the wild, colors getting good http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kalthuslee/media/DSC07352_zpsb1d3830a.jpg.html'> red planet, boy they grow fast! purple or blue? blue tip green stag, well... this fella lost most of the blue! amazing blue dragon (Not mine!!!) Teal millie sunset millie purple valida all time fav, purple bonsai forever not growing ice fire. Lost most of it's color.. i've been out of clams for a long time and this fella brought me back! End this update with a FTS Thanks for viewing!

  12. welcome! first and foremost, forgive me for what im going to say and most probably you wont like it. 1) The smaller the tank, the harder it is to maintain the tank. mainly due to quick parameter shifting and hard to maintain levels of stability. a simple over dose of a strong additive of product can send your tank crashing. Newbies are usually suggested to get a tank as big as possible. 2) Im just assuming your tank is new? i see a new bag with fish which is bad news, your tank is new and it needs to be cycled. at least for 2-3 weeks with proper dosing of bacterials. to be safe i will put it at 4 weeks of cycling. You can use a small market prawn and let it rot inside to feed the bacterial. if the fish survives then good, if it dosn't, do not add anymore while waiting for your tank to cycle. 3) Since your tank is new, i suggest changing out that thick layer of coral chips, to a thin layer of grade 0 or grade 1 sand. or caribsea sands. coral chips trap tons of debris and in a small tank like that, you will find it hard to keep no3 and po4 down. and keep a thin 1-2cm layer of sand will do. you will be surprised how much debris even small grains of sand can trap. 4) upgrade your HOF. your hang on filter looks small and without space for additional filteration stuff. suggest you go for the biggest dolphin hang on filter that is around 800l/hr. one way you can have the space for some carbon, some rowaphos, and aother way, you get a great deal of flow and dosn't require anymore wavemaker if you want to venture into corals. these are all just my humble suggestion. hope this helps
  13. not forgetting they require constant flow in their gills if im not wrong, which means they need to swim constantly and requires huge flow of water. all these cannot be easily done by common hobbyist. suggest you go SEA aquarium admire sharks instead.
  14. please do not keep any sharks in any sort of tank or enclosure, they really do deserve only the ocean.
