Improve survive rate of newly bought fish
Evolutionz replied to wanwan's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Another thing is, buyer have to know what is good and bad for their tank, a tang (of any kind) inside a 2ft is a big NO. certain tang like achillies or blue tangs are best kept in 6ft tank and above. even 6ft are considered small for them. If you have a 3ft and below tank, stick to fishes like anthias, gobies and blennies that will do better in a small tank. -
Darth maul reserved.

Updates: Went for a week long holiday, came back realised AIO Biopellet reactor is off-ed. Dosing container (Ca, kH) Both empty, which i forgot to replenish before i left! Luckily things were fine when i got back, just loads of algae and kH was at 6+. Did a 30% WC to 'balance' everything. New addition, 8 pieces of Red spot cardinal, they started feeding on frozen rotifers hours after adding in. Was told their survival rate are low, fingers crossed Some new additions Baby RBTA Strawberry fields Optic Fibre pocci Despite the issues above, noticed new growth tip from this blue tip green stag! Some old stuffs.. Sunset Monti, Shifted this frag many times and guess what, turns out it prefers the sandbed most! Red Planet Old purpleish-green color is returning to this old frag! Aussie duncan Full tank shot! As you can see, im battling tons of algae now! I probably used too little AIO Biopellet (150g?) thus po4 is not being reduced efficiently. I started rowaphos today with a TLF phosban 150 reactor and will be reverting back to Vinegar dosing + Rowaphos. Strange enough, salifert been reading 0.1 no3 and 0 po4 all the while. I do know salifert's po4 test kit cannot be trusted though! Thats all for today. Thanks for viewing!

Improve survive rate of newly bought fish
Evolutionz replied to wanwan's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Certain fishes are meant to be left in the oceans only, while certain fish depends on where you buy them, have much higher survival rate. For example, Cleaner wrasse from any other LFS/Farm other than Coral farms have pretty low survival rate. My cleaner wrasse from Coral farm had been quarantined and well-fed for weeks already so they are guaranteed to be healthy! Mine started eating pellets shortly after too. Certain LFS do not practice any sort of quarantine and simply sell them in bags, they are often the ones that don't survive well. -
As above, looking for used, good condition one. SMS me at 9106-3934 thanks

Well I started this tank with led + t5 and colors are ok so far, my old tank's t5 probably hung too high up so I don't see any great improvement. However for this tank, the t5 fills up many shadows caused by the razor and the t5 alone is able to lit up the tank pretty decently.

by atlantis, do you mean Atlantic Glass Industry? As much as you do not want to hear, no matter what kind of ventillation you got there, the chiller will not last long. The chiller needs to be outside in open space. Unless u spend money build a ventillation fan that draws big amount of air out of your cabinet. As for without skimmer, Its possible if you are going for mainly LPS/zoas. But skimmerless and no water change will not work. Those are crap advices. I thought you've been reefing for some time? you should know all thsese..

about 21 months ago, i purchased a mandarin fish as my first fish for my 1ft cube. It was a mistake and i had to buy pods weekly as the tank was way too small to house/breed pods to feed it. Today it had doubled in size and went through 3 tank changes, It remains the most hardy fish and one of my favourite! Some new addition : Was told this is a birds of paradise! Its been a REALLY long time since i bought cultured SPS, the first cultured colony for my tank is this beautifully shaped bali green slimer! Red milie, loving the PE Interesting Acro which i have no ID, greenish base with pink/red tips. Zoas corner, They are situated at the left side of the tank! Less flow and lesser light. After i turn off all the pumps/wavemaker the Anthias go dancing around the SPS, a truely beautiful sight.. Its a pity when i turn back the pumps on, due to the high flow the anthias tend to avoid or seldom venture among the sps. FTS Taking with just 2 x 24 Aquazonic T5 turned on! Its pretty cool how well-lite is the tank. I did do a little brightening but just 2 tubes of the aquazonic t5 is able to light up the whole tank. Thats all for today, thanks for viewing!
