Day 88. Bought a set of filter lenses for my Galaxy S10+ and the yellow filter corrects the white balance very accurately to capture the true color of the tank! Here's some pictures i took, no editing at all! Just the yellow filter with the Pro mode on my S10+ Zoas garden Some newly aquired acans Red stag, previously snipped the top of both sticks hoping to encourage vertical growth instead of encrusting. Looks like that didn't work out. Got it from a friend who bought this was walt disney, let's see how this turns out. Red planet millipora Bonsai Pink milliepora SSC Miyagi Tort Thanks for viewing! -

If you're worried, cut out a small square piece of egg crates and rest the pointy part of your rocks on it. Small piece of egg crates won't cause much issue.

Thank you! its an double edge sword if you want to have NPS corals in a SPS-dominated tank. i was interested to try out 1 or 2 to glue to the underside of my floating rocks but sun/supersun corals are very hard to come by nowadays.. very expensive too. Yeah the adapter spoil and i used a wrong spare adapter and the led blew, i contacted the seller and he told me to ship it back to them he will replace the LED for me for free. But given our location that is not economically feasible. So he offered to sell me just the LED module along with a new adapter for only about $12. Pretty good after-sales service i must say. -

Day 84. Some corals photos! One of my all time favourite, Bonsai! Got this beautiful SSC colony couple weeks back, its a real pity it dropped overnight because i didnt glue it well enough. some of the tips STN-ed and thankfully they are encrtusting back after snipping the dead tips off. Bought as a sunset millie, but its turning pink... Random shots.. Zoas and LPS are growing very well too despite my low nutrients. Feeding Reef Energy AB+ daily. So as my previous update, i've gotten myself a 2nd Noopsyche, i can see a great improvement in spread and definitely less shadowing on my SPS. Given the price point, it is still extremely worth the money to run 2 on a 2 footer. Current peak period of both lights max out at White 17%, Blues/Royal Blues/UV 50%, red/green 6% -
Purple hornets reserved for trade!

Hi bro, 2ft cube for LPS and soft corals 1 K7 is definitely enough. You probably will not run it above 70%. Hi bro, not so much of a great experience as its there mainly for ich/parasite mangement. But i did see an improvement in water clarity after installing the UV back on. Also a huge reduction in algae on the tank wall! -

I would prefer 12mm but of course Tank maker's the professional, will be ok since he had confirmed so. 5mm would've been a very dangerous set up!
-
i would strongly suggest you to remake your tank, 105x50x50 5mm braceless is absolutely a big NO. who is your tank maker to even agree making such a thin tank for such tank size? i wouldn't even think 10mm would be safe since its rimless, euro-braced 10mm is fine though. I don't think even if you DIY some bracing on it will make it safe.

Setup 6ft x 2.5ft x 2.5ft with sump 4ft salt tank
Evolutionz replied to Peterlim's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
I personally think that FOWLR do not need 0 TDS water from RODI or DI unit. Just tap water is fine. But then again, if you can its definitely better. With you tank size you'll need some big and solid skimmer, Don't think even the BM Curve 9 will make a good choice since you have over 1200L water. Deltec 1500IX is a good choice IMO. Such a big tank is also gonna be a challenge to chill, FOWLR ideally should have a chiller running as well. Edit: Don't you already have the FOWLR set up? -
Hi reefers, Looking for the above mentioned. Only looking for the Long version, PM or Whatsapp me at 910Six393Four if you have 1 for sale. Thanks

Day 79. Nothing much has changed, corals are growing very well and color are maintaing well too. Did some simple modification over the weekend to improve the set up. Ordered a bunch of PVC fittings, great way to learn about DIY plumbing! The previous soft tube plumbing i did put too much back pressure (due to too many 90 degree joints) on my Jebao DC Pump, it actually stopped working a couple times. Realised what was going on and switched back to a T joint that feeds the chiller instead. As i have a UV unit, i will need 2 manifolds.. Fixed it up after it cured, the big bulky fitting with an arrow pointing up is a check valve that prevents backflow. Also fitted 2 ball valve to feed the Chiller and my UV. Next up, my UAS LED blew a week ago and had to order another set of LED. Within a week most of the algae inside died and the display's wall had a noticable increase in algae growth. Guess that means the UAS was working well! Took the chance to also use the chiller return line to feed this UAS instead of a dedicated pump. That way i can save some power and contribute less heat to the system. Also noticed alot of pods (some were HUGE) living within the UAS, guess it can also be used as a copepods condo! I fitted 2 90 degree elbow replacing the pump fitting and fitted my chiller return line to it. Final sump look, pretty messy but it gets the job done! Also bought an external thermostat and its doing a great job while measuring the temperature in my DT, instead of what's going through my chiller. End this update with a little sneak peak, got myself a 2nd Noopsyche K7 Pro 2. Thanks for viewing! -

Missed your reply, i think i added my first SPS in during the 4th week. Can be done, i had 0 losses and almost no color loss as well. I kept my alk very stable at 8.6dkh and i test it twice a day. Having no fish for more than 2 months also helped in managing nutrients for a new tank. -
That's some solid DIY skills there!!!
