  1. should be east ocean right? i have the lower range one at 6x3 watt (4 white 2 blue) IMO, its too white and it dosn't make the color of my corals pop.
  2. this could explain why my no3 is higher than before.. probably i should reduce to alternate days too.
  3. talking about hammer.. mine indeed also opened up abit bigger.. i have 2 head, 1 head always smaller.. now both seems like of equal size.. as for zoas.. not much difference.
  4. have read alot of horror story whereby accidental overdosing literally killed all the corals.. though fishes are ok.. don't think i will risk it.
  5. what was the SG in the NSW? and what was the SG in the salt mix? doing 40% which is relatively large, if the SG is different, the clowns may not be able to take it..
  6. Just saw your pm! sorry for not replying.. the small red icon simply couldn't catch my eye... still doing research and still deciding if should start relying on carbon dosing.. read alot mixed reviews.. and all on extreme side.. either mentioning they kill all their corals and fishes because it striped the tank clean of nutrients (apprantly need to dose Red Sea Reef Energy A & B to replenish back but that fella didnt) or it was very effective in controlling no3 and po4.. also read that it can drop quite a lot of no3 within a day and that stressed the corals..
  7. Thanks bro, not at the moment.. i did frag most on my zoas out and glue them to frag plugs and they are on my frag station.. will set if i have too much to handle
  8. Thanks bro! Thanks! i noticed some grow quite fast while some don't.. espicially my mohawk can grow 1 new polpy within a week.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- anyway light's 5 blue 2 white.. not 3 white.. sorry!
  9. yesterday only manage to test for around 3 hours period.. produce of heat is almost none when i put my hand near the bulbs.. the Heat sinks is warm to the touch too..Im not looking at dimming it now since i removed the lens..
  10. Bought too many for my nano.. want to sell away 3 adult female. size around 1.5cm... 3 for $8. SMS me at 9106-3934. Collection ONLY at woodlands drive 72.
  11. My new 5 blue 3 white Bridgelux 3Watt LED Par38 is finally hooked up! tank look more blueish and corals looks better too.. Some corals picture. Thanks for viewing!
  12. led with holder.. much neater and i no longer have to shift the light up to do maintenance.
  13. Just an update to those still interested.. i've waited 3 weeks for the light holder from ebay to come and i've wait till neck very long already.. thanks to a reefer who posted saying a shop behind marinelife do sell E27 holders, went there to purchase one.. quality not to bad for the price.. However upon fixing up the light.. noticed the lenses made the light too strong and narrow.. i doubt its a 90 degree lens actually.. forgot to take a photo of the actual tank image with the lens on but it only covered the center leaving the side almost dark.. and im sure the corals in the center will burn in minutes due to it brightness. I removed the lens and ran the light without the lens.. and here's the result. light is about 4 - 5 inch above water level. the holder is not too strong and thus unable to raise anymore.. and im wondering if its because our eyes are less sensitive to blue thats why i find the tank dimmer? though it has 1 more 3W led compared to the beamswork.. Nonetheless, this light set does provide much better and look to the tank.. Taken with note 2. more accurate brightness of the actual tank and color.. taken with DSLR. Just to show an illustration, this was taken when my beamswork is still on.. do note that it appears slightly more blueish when i use my note 2 to take.. in actual its more white. My review so far on this LED is : Pros : nice build and feels pretty solid. compact and does not take so much space up. Cons : Lens too narrow.. probably have to raise the light to at least 30cm above water level, however my tank's in cabinet so unable to do so. No dimming, Switching of light function.. my beamswork can switch to only the blue but this cannot. No fans inside. Only a very small adapter/converter found in the light set.. will run a for a few days to see if my corals are happy..

  17. isn't it gonna be very expensive if u were to bring ur fishes and coral to a "fish hotel" and stay there for a month or 2? probably better to sell and then buy again.
  18. U using fan to chill ur sps? Would be interesting to see if it can thrive in non chilled tank
  19. sounds like a pretty dangerous product! my tank is only 34L (20+L if minus rocks sand etc) i guess i only need to dose 0.5ml and its quite easy to over dose since its in such small amount.. still thinking of buying it to control my nitrate..
  20. i have a 7x3 watt Par38 can this astro support? or will it blow my LED?
  21. sounds really cool! i was thinking of a DIY sump tank with no comparments too for my future 2ft tank.. but was worried that if the overflow fails, the pump may pump too much back to the main tank.. how do u make sure that its only the container's water that is being pumped back? and can PM me the price of the skimz overflow box? Thanks...
