Sirius' Rimless Shallow Mixed Reef

Unfortunately yes... I had thought that was sufficient. But I was wrong and had to pay a heavy price for it. Think I’ll stay off fairy wrasses for the time being and just let the roseafascia be the king. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app -

Hi fellow reefers, clearing my storeroom now and I realised I still have my aqua Sanrise LED lightset here. It is meant for a 2 feet tank but will be also more than sufficient for a 2.5feet tank as well. Comes with stand and is in very good condition still. This was purchased early 2017. http://www.aquamarin.com.sg/blog/?p=2918 I think this set retails at 600+ but I’m clearing at $180. Pls pm me if interested thanks!! Yes, it’s like my tank is trying to show me issues I have to settle one after the other. Such a coincidence that this happens within 24 hours of u asking me about the security of the netting in the way I run the lines. Ok I’m gonna try to enable heartbeat on the apex now. Will see when i have the spare cash and time to buy the backup battery. [emoji53][emoji18] Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app -

My rhomboid just jumped out from my tank, it penetrated the netting I had installed and landed on the floor. Although I heard the sound ten mins before I found him dead on the floor, I didn’t bother to check. Now I’m regretting that decision. [emoji24][emoji24] Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app -

Took some photos just now to capture the size of these frags and compare them in a few months time. My Sps colours have been slowly browning and I’m still trying to figure out why. But there are still many variables that could have caused it, so I’m trying to make changes slowly and hopefully with time they will stabilise and colour up more again (as long as they don’t die on me [emoji28][emoji28]) Sold to me and called Pink Lady. It has pink polyps. Birds of paradise Think this was called a Pink Duster. Colours are losing [emoji58] This is a red polyped specimen I got from an Aussie shipment. Once again the red is not as obvious as it was few weeks back. This is supposed to be a rainbow milli. I’m not sure if it’s a milli tho. Any experts to advice? [emoji28] Another piece I like. It is actually green and with a tinge of purplish pink. I don’t know what this Sps is so anyone who can ID it for me will be great [emoji6] Another pink polyped specimen. I think I have a liking for things pink. [emoji7] Rainbow loripes. Been with me for 6 weeks so far and luckily the colour for this has largely remained the same. Don’t know what this is but I like the colours on it. [emoji7] Random zoa frag pictures. Tyree Rasta and AOI. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app -

So discovering this at 0100H on Tuesday, I called for emergency works to be done by my electrician on Tuesday evening to settle this issue and to install 4x13A power points inside my tank cabinetry. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app -

Coincidentally, the incident happened on the same day that I decided to order a piece of equipment that will monitor the health of my tank. Placed order at 10am and tank stopped at 9pm that evening Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app -

Hi bro yes u are correct. I plugged these two adapters onto each other before plugging in the multi-plugs which power my equipment. Reason being I connected 2 x multi plugs to this single socket and I needed the lateral displacement from the socket to fit in two plugs. They are not good quality and should not be “stacked” like this. To think that we usually spend thousands and thousands on top-quality equipment but hinge the life of the system on $5 plugs. Yeah hope this sharing also serves as a wake up call for those reefers testing the limits like me. Since u asked let me share a little more. I had spent a fortune on my livestock and some hairs within me had alrdy started to stand when I occasionally heard electrical surging sounds coming from my socket. So I decided to call an electrician to my place. The plan was to install two separate power points that would be linked to its own CB. I had also wanted these two CBs to be housed in a separate ELCB so that if anything trips in the house my tank would still be running, so these thoughts would provide a double contingency. However the electrician said it wasn’t possible as my house wiring is all concealed, and they have no way to run a new wiring to the balcony except to only tap from the existing powerpoint to split 13A outlets. And I could not set up an ELCB that was separate from the one for my home as it would compromise regulations and put my home at more risk from fire. So I just skipped the idea altogether. To answer your question, only power was not available to my tank as the socket had burnt through. But actually power was still available at the socket. So my CB did not trip. There was no overload as my total power consumption did not exceed 13A. Now to solve this, I actually got the electrician to come the next day evening to install 4 x 13A powerpoints at that affected outlet. Good thing was that the power socket was connected solely to a 20A CB that wasn’t split anywhere else in the house. So now I can effectively have 4 power sockets that combined cannot exceed 20A but individually up to 13A. Sorry for the long write up [emoji28] Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
