  1. Sure bro! Will be posting up more pics soon...
  2. Ok i think that will be my last piece of equipment for this tank. Trying to minimise stuff and keep things simple. I'll also try to stick to my initial goal for this tank, which is to make it as hassle free with as little maintenance as possible. That'll equate to me having to keep LPS and softies and avoid SPS. Also, fishes will be kept to a minimum so as to maintain a low bio-load. This way, i hope i'll only have to change filter wool and clean the glass every few days la..... (2 high maintenance tanks will kill me!) Anyway here is my finalised list of equipments for this tank: Return Pump: Eheim 1262 Skimmer: Deltec APF600 Lights: Giesemann Infiniti 4x24W + 1x150W Chiller: Arctica OEM 1/3HP (Daeil Fish Cooler) Wavemaker: Vortech MP20 FR: Reef Octopus PHR-100 Reactor (Rowaphos) Water Top Up: JBJ ATO with external reservoir That'll be all for this tank i guess!!
  3. Check out this new toy that will be makin' waves....... Savvvvy......
  4. Another look at the tank from a different angle. Here is the tank's last "bare" moment before corals start going in....
  5. Here is a picture of my tank with the new rockscape. This will be a prata, zoas and most importantly, acanthastrea lordhowensis dominated tank..... Have enough corals currently to fill this new tank to the brim without having to buy any more la......
  6. Thanks for the compliments bro... will try to minimise damage to my wallet this time.... =)
  7. Thanks for the advice bro! I will be looking to boost up the KH soon. As for the magnesium, i have the test kit la, but lazy to test yesterday leh. Will do it when i can again. The MH used will be Hamilton 14K. But i doubt i will be using MH though. Will stick to just 4 T5s for now.....
  8. Hehe.... the pictures jolted ur memory ah? Anyway have you managed to find the warranty card and allen key?
  9. Hi guys, i have just bought a lightset that comes with the bracket and hanging kit, and because i have already just bought the exact same Giesemann Wall Bracket and Hanging Kit from Reef Depot last week, there is no need for them now. The bracket is a great looking thing to have and use if you're looking to hang up your lightset instead of resting it on the hood or eurobracing. Am looking to sell the bracket for $75. Original retail price is $119. Item is still in very good condition. The hanging kit is most often used together with the bracket, and is adjustable in length to suit the light-set's height above water as you deem appropriate. Am looking to sell this for $35. Original retail price is $55. Item just bought on Thursday (04/06/09) with receipt as proof. If anyone willing to buy both then will let go at $100. Those interested pls PM me! Pictures courtesy of Reef Depot.
  10. Ok last thing for today. I tested the parameters for the NSW that was used for this tank. Of course, only certain parameters were tested, and the results were still ok, as it could have fared better in some departments i feel. KH - 6.1 Ammonia - 0 Nitrite - 0 Phosphate - 0.1 Nitrate - 0.2 Calcium - 380 Will be trying to correct the deficient areas before the live stock goes in!!
  11. Ya i was the guy who bought it. Haiz but this time busted my budget again. It has already cost me alot to set up another new tank and i told myself i wont be spending anymore, but i couldnt resist when i saw the deal. What was worse was that i had actually just bought a brand new Giesemann bracket last week for abt a hundred bucks, and now i have one spare. If only the set was on sale earlier........ As for the liverocks, its alright la. Glad you liked them anyway.
  12. Here's a closer look at the Giesemann Infiniti. Much cooler looking and steady than the standard retrofit lightsets. The price to pay for german quality i guess.
  13. Now here comes a lil surprise for myself.... Chanced upon a good opportunity, and i decided i had to get this.
  14. Bought some live rocks yesterday.... Haha i had to run up and down from Pasir Ris to LCK then back to Pasir Ris again before finally amassing these 4 pieces.... and they were huge rocks......
  15. Haha you want some more? The one i am selling is 20lbs. My thursday means yesterday leh... so you bought yesterday too? haha....
  16. haha ok if no takers at this discounted price then i will try my luck and return it to RD....
  17. Hi guys, bought some live sand from RD on thursday and it turned out that i didnt need that much. Therefore, i have one spare packet to let go at $48. Retail price is $59 if i'm not wrong. It is live sand that is sealed up, ready to be used anytime, and the sand is white in colour. Grain size is abt grade 1. Those interested pls PM me. Thanks!
  18. I bought 3 packets of the live sand, and in the end, it turned out to be too much for my 75 gallon (280L) set-up. To make things worse for me, these stuff didnt come cheap. Will be looking to sell of this extra packet of live sand that i bought.
  19. Anyway, the tank was finally filled up with NSW on wednesday night, and the next thing was to get some sand for the tank. I decided once again, to purchase live sand so as to speed up the "cycling" of the tank. In fact, i'll be aiming to introduce everything matured into the tank so that there is no cycling stage to speak of at all. Here is my choice: Caribsea Ocean Direct Carribean Live Sand (White) Wanted to go for white for a change, since my current tank is filled with black sand.
  20. If its the type 303 angle seat check valve from GF, then i guess only GF carries it. It costs abt 56 per piece, and is subject to availability. Cheers!
  21. Softies = Zoas , right? Hurray! Look who's back, back again.....
  22. Aiya not really "high end" equipment liao, considering all the Supermarines/Red Dragons and what-have-you stuff reefers are using these days. Mine are just "proven to be not bad" kinda equipment la, and mostly re-used from the previous set-up also. Hehe actually i already have some "hidden" stock in my main tank waiting to be moved over to this new tank. I set up the new tank for this very purpose actually, to hold these corals. Some precious gems........
