Just to ask, where did u buy those suction cup? Seems like a good idea!
-
Can someone provide the exact location of this shop?
-
Bro Prox, where did u buy Polylab Medic?
-
I just bought this product and was wondering will it be good to run it with Chaeto? If really ULNS than perhaps my Chaeto won't make it for long.

A pair of sunglasses??!?? Haha

Haha... Yup, I know. Hmm... Seems like we can't really deduce whether Blue Treasure is a good salt to use anot.
-
From what I read, am I right to say blue treasure salt gives higher Ca, Mg, Kh. While Red Sea coral pro & DD provides not as high Ca, Mg, Kh, but higher amounts of trace element?

I would like to know as well. Currently using Red Sea Coral Pro, not sure should I make the switch to Blue Treasure

PH at 8.6 (How to lower without affecting dkh)
magical26 replied to magical26's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Using PH Test Pen. Calibrate using PH 7 solution. Check with LFS saltwater too, it read 8.2. So quite sure my PH is 8.6. -
Hi all, My parameters are: 1. Salinity = 1.024 2. Mag = 1380 3. Cal = 420 4. DKH = 8.6 5. PH = 8.6 Question is, how do i lower PH to about 8.3 without affecting dkh? I would like the rest of my parameters to be the same as before. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Will adding vinegar lower my dkh if my objective is to lower my PH just a little? Will adding baking soda to raise my DKH to 9 further increase my PH? Thanks

Nice rockscape, did it yourself bro?

What was used to remove it?

I thought its best to have a DSB throughout your main Display Tank rather than just your refugium, correct me if i am wrong. Some people would place mineral/miracle mud in the refugium along with certain algaes (chaeto) while having a DSB in their main tank. Any inputs?
-
I understand that and i want to go with it as well. But someone told me that in long run, it traps detritus and will result in hydrogen sulphide etc... Hmm... So far, online also got a lot of people say its good, and a lot say its not so good... So i lost now! Sianz...
-
Hi Bros, i was just wondering, there are some that swear by DSB while others say its an old theory that doesnt work no matter how carefully you set it up. I do not know whether to go with DSB if i do set up a 4-5 feet system. Any senior 'shi-fu' to advise newbies?

Newly Prep Saltwater in Pail Turning Chalky
magical26 replied to magical26's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Hi there, i am local... no worries... So is it safe to conclude that its chalky calcium and safe to add to my tank? -
Hi folks, i experience this problem of my newly prep saltwater turning murky a few times, anyone knows why? Basically i jus use Di water in a standard pail, and with a pump running. than i slowly add salt to bring it to the desired salinity level. I am currently using ME salt. And the pump in the pail is 200GPH... When the salt completely dissolves, the water is still clear. after several hours ( maybe overnight ) the water appears to be murky... Can someone pls help me identify possible problems here? Is there anyone who experience the same prob...? Is the chalky water still safe for use

oh ok, thanx for the effort scubajazz... btw, is this skimmer very sensitive to water levels so far? As in, if u forgot to top up water for a day, will it fail to skim well?
-
Thanx a lot for helping out Scubajazz! Will try it out once i have the time. Btw, i measured the width of the 2nd compartment, its abt 6 inch. So do u use the original pump that comes with it? And u placed it exactly where it shd be w/o any alterations is it? And when u say point blank, i presume u turn the part with the sponge to face the front of the tank or back of the tank is it? So sorry if i a bit blur... Will surely appreciate your help tons when i manage to get this to work. Can treat u Kopi also...
-
hi scubajazz, i went to buy the nano skimmer today. jus to check with u, where did u buy the white tape that you used to secure the joints? And i cant figure out how to put it into the middle compartment. Did u remove the L shape connector for water outlet?
