    Lights are to be run 16hrs ON, 8 hrs OFF. To provide maximum growth the ideal wattage of the lamp should be 36W (min)and using WARM WHITE. Clean the screen every 3 days, the initial growth would be brown thin algae. After a few weeks you'll see some green hair algae growth within the brown algae growth. Now you clean it every 5 days, Overall, a new screen has darker growth because the nutrients in the tank are higher. After a few cleanings (i.e., a few weeks), the nutrients in the tank should be less, and thus the growth should start getting greener. If your screen NEVER grows green even after 8 weeks, it means your scrubber is just not strong enough for your amount of feeding. You can: o Add more lighting (more bulbs are better that one stronger bulb) o Rough the screen up more o Increase the flow o Reduce the feeding o Add another screen and bulbs (meaning, a second scrubber) Remember though, that dark brown/black growth STILL does filtering; but it should be cleaned every 5 days instead of 7. If brown/black gives you enough results, you will have no need to worry about changing things.

    Cyanide fishing is curel! Why don't they use natural chemicals to stun the fishes? i have a SAS survival book that teaches how to use this particular type of plant roots to stun fishes. The roots are crushed and it releases a milky toxin that stuns the fishes temporarily. Just imagine the amount the fishes that will be saved.
