Oh well, throw some sand into the sump holding area? Main tank is better off without sand! I'm with you in that...

      im a fan of sand.

tank is unatural without sand. just my personal opinion

but with sand it will be harder to keep it clean :)

  9. Wooo nice potential estate for sps!
  10. True they are 50/50 but its in their DNA so chances are one day instinct will kick in. Just like the Pyramid butterfly that one of the reefers encountered, eating on LPS. But in reefing that's how lifes goes, hit and misses
  11. Most colours and hybrids are nice but sometimes colour morphs makes the fishes appear dirty or stained. Sadly regals don't do very well with softies especially zoas. So those who want to keep this beauty do consider its diet too. Actually C.argi angels are seldom brought in, have not seen them in recent Caribbean shipment. So far only RD brought them in and was very lucky to take hold of one.
  12. Not sure if this was posted before but this is my contribution of hybrids and rare fishes. C.potteri x C.fisheri C.bicolour with a rare colour morph from the GBR pygoplites_diacanthus C.argi x C.aurantonota
  13. That was fast, those who are interested in soft corals might consider also the yellow leather, neon green devils fingers and some other rare softies that i can't remember its name.
  14. You guys might want to try iwarna's pipe organ saw a few nice pattern and coloured ones
  15. Not forgetting really exotic, psychedelic rainbow colours on mushrooms and rhodatics
  16. Bro if i'm not wrong the dimension of the inner dia is 25mm. Yes once the durso is in the water lv in the overflow box will go up thus the splashing sound will minimise. How i minimise the noise the last time? same as what you're doing, controlling the water lv using the ball valve
  17. Filter pads needs to be cleaned often to prevent the build up of dirt and eventually the spike in your Nitrate. I would still suggest doing up a durso pipe, thats if there is still space to squeeze one in. What are the pipings that you still need to get? from the pics everything is running as i had it before. Wilson the laminate has not changed since day 1. I guess its good workmanship.
  18. Hey Bro! wow i see you've put alot of effort in getting this tank new again! Well done and i notice you removed the RHS door. As for the overflow problem the sound will never stop even with a ball valve. You need a durso pipe, reason being when your tank water evaporates the water in the overflow compartment will drop and you'll have the sound again. I tried that before, so my advice is to use a durso pipe. The thing about our local pipe dimensions is that an 3/4" elbow will not fit into a 3/4" T-joint. So what we do is to cut a 1" pipe to connect the elbow to the T-joint. There is an alternative way which i will post when i home which i done w/o using the above method. As for your skimmate don't have to worry much as for now you are cycling your tank and not much skim to be skimmed out. Once your cycle is over and you've added in fishes, skim muck will appaear.
  19. Totally agree with you that not all fishes eat corals what we need is some reading up. So lets not side track and continue this post
  20. Thank you guys for creating awarness and starting this thread, i guess we reefers in Singapore are not exposed to the vast information on rare and hybrid fishes. Not many online and books that show or highlight rare and hybrid fishes. So i guess fellow reefers here are happy or should i say contented to just keep common and resonably priced fishes and not spend thousands on a rare fish unlike the ppl in japan, us...etc This is a good thread and it really open my eyes on the number of hybrids and fishes that we some how miss out. Do keep this thread running i love it.
