  1. Petmart at Serangoon usually have stock. They may not display it but they have it in their store, just ask the sales people la
  2. honestly I think now with your rocks in, just go for a Bare bottom look because I think it's gonna be absolutely difficult for you to put in that sand carefully with such a tall tank/cabinet, lights etc all there. your work space allowance is really very very tight.... good luck to that man when the time comes!
  3. awesome. It's a beautiful specimen in the marine tank.
  4. I didnt notice until amby brought it up.. but yeah after the tank is done, is there going to be any additional middle support for the tank? i am not a structural engineer do my worry could be for naught but it would be good to check and ensure your tank is adequately supported.
  5. well at most u get another mp40 or tunze tunze is also a good and reliable brand. my tank is 4 feet and I am using tunze 2 variable 6105 and a wavebox plus my 2 returns have penductors. Flow is very important to prevent dead spots so u start monitoring once your water and rocks are in.
  6. 5 days is too short man.... let it cycle longer ( 2 weeks).... by right you should not even be putting in ANY LS within such a short span of time and that includes corals. What's your SG level? Are you dosing any bacteria? Picture of tank please? Do you have any test kits to check your ammonia and nitrite levels? 2 mins is rather ridiculous.. I know this is going to sound foolish but I assume you didn't buy freshwater fish and shrimp. Do you know what fish and shrimp you bought?
  7. Btw DAnzer, why not use the newer Deltec TC models..rather than the AP? The AP being an older model than the newer TCs. full cabinet nice.. the white will match the rest of your white themed house. I see your kitchen cabinets also white!
  8. I always admire having an empty canvas to design the tank and wiring etc before moving in. So cool. Yes at this stage, having not move in you can take your time and do it up part by part... so this saturday is just the rest of the woodwork coming in? How about the piping etc? So what's the timetable for this tank? or is it dependent on your home reno as well? I echo the sentiment of getting some sort of cover for your switches also for the ones above your overflow.. it's too close for comfort. this is gonna be the show piece of your house!
  9. if you really want chiller use an ice probe or those hang on fans ( but take note evaporation will be high) however for ice probe you'd need to get an external thermostat or you put it on timer like on for 30 nmins off for 30 mins etc. don't add anything else to your tank right now and just let it mature.. , also ... don't trust what the LFS tells you , take everything with a pinch of salt and read up , do your own research and ask fellow reefers before buying or doing anything. Marine is Not like a freshwater setup. I had an IQ5 before and because of it's basic filtration system, it's imperative you change water weekly. After all it's so small the max you'd change is 2L out of the 13L water volume. How are you dealing with the water top up currently? Are you using Distilled water? Are you dosing bacteria at the moment?
  10. very nice bunch of zoas.. Very impressive.
  11. actualy it was Eniram who mentioned it to me so I relayed the message that it's a gumdrop goby... hee hee
  12. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+717+1425&pcatid=1425 apparantly no good for SPS... Fiend....not friend..
  13. Hey Ezio, have you considered a deltec skimmer? ... I think you'd most likely need more than 1 wavemaker too. It's either TUnze or VOrtech for that. Have fun... tank setups are always the funnest and... sometimes teaches one lots and LOTS of patience..
  14. well someone had asked this question before in another thread..you can go read.
  15. terryz I love your carpet.. it's a beaut la!
  16. I placed all my clams in the sump because I realise that my sand has worms and all the clams I put in the main tank always end up dying... so I decided to shift them all to the sump and be part of my natural biological filtration.
  17. ahhaah it's the biggest fish in the 3 footer!!! which is all dwarf angels and 1 simillar size PBT , 1 cleaner wrasse, 1 perc, 2 yellow wrasse and 1 leopard wrasse .. the golden angel is supposed to be 2nd in line after the PBT

  19. hey mengyang, yeah we have released it last night after spending only a couple of hours in the beta as we notice it was pecking at the beta box but not at ANY Of the food we throw in... and after checking around, I think it's better to release than to beta it. sigh...at first it was following the Powder blue around like a puppy... LOL machiam like Orientation... then after that it totally disappeared within the rockwork of my 3 footer. LOL Don't know where it is!!! How can such a big angel ( compared to my other tiny dwarf angels).. disappear completely! LOL
