  1. my tank is exceedingly "happy"... male wrasses, male anthias ( 5 dominant bartlet and 1 female), male mandarin... males EVERYWHERE!!!!! LOL
  2. sorry have to withdraw my offer... tested it with water and though the pump works it's not working as thoroughly as it should. good luck in your search.
  3. hi I have one for sale. used it for a yr before upgrading to my bigger tank so it's been unused the past 1 yr 8 months. this is the version with the media basket included. I just tested the pump it's still working. willing to sell to you for $75. You can come by and take a look if you wish. no obligation to buy. PM me if you are interested.
  4. powders are one of the most prone to ich and most sensitive to water parameters amongst the Tang series besides Achilles Tangs.... so make sure your parameters are stable and good before trying a powder.
  5. haahah 10x or 20x flow rate will not result in 'sea sickness'... it's just how many times your water volume is "turned around" in the tank. 4 - 6x is too low la. MOre like if you put in 6 MP40 VOrtechs then maybe you'd get seasickness! My 4 x 2.5 x 2 is using 2 return ehiem 1264
  6. can't wait to see your tank in person! so cool!! love the lagoon
  7. Here's some vids I took with the Iphone of the tank.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuYTS8PNxXY My new mandarin after the old one got Whacked by the Blue Tang... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6TSzYt1axg I have shifted down my clams to my sump as I realise they are always dying in the main tank so all the clams which have not securely fastened themselves to the substrate in the main tank is now in the sump. I highly suspect it's worms. Currently using the T5 Gisseman to light up the sump to ensure there is enough light for the clams. Left 2 clams in the DT which I can't move.
  8. well as long as there's no metal pieces in the water.. whatever works for you. Good luck.
  9. For me it's Tunze for the win.... simple and reliable Can't go wrong with Tunze.
  10. I echo everyone's sentiments.. your tank is way way way way too overstocked. For the sake of your fishes, PLEASE reduce the bioload by selling to other reefers with far more space. Your fish can hardly swim around without banging into a rock, glass or each other!
  11. Was at LCK.... TONS of supersunnies still left Was at Coral Farm and I saw ALL THESE beautiful CLAMS!! sigh not to mention this HUGE ANGEL!!!! ..
  12. Bought another 2 more sunnies from LCK today.. couldn't resist.. so now I have 5 colonies of sunnies. This is a pic of my zoo encrusted "roof" rock .. with bicolor birdsnest at the background and the pink BN on the left. Was at Coral farm today, saw this PBT and was so tempted to get it.. sigh.. but I just added in a POwder Brown and .. I'm not sure whether adding in a powder blue would cause an ich explosion...
  13. algae blenny and tangs for the win.
  14. upz for a nice reefer. hope to see you back at LFS soon.
  15. agree with CFO and kiko. Do get Distilled water and not from the tap as tap water has chlorine which will kill your livestock. SG = Salinity . I echo the use of a refractometer. It's expensive compared to a Hydrometer but it's far more accurate and no headaches of whether the reading is right or not. I had a hydrometer before and it kept on giving me different readings. The milky salt water could be due to there is way too much salt in the water...if I recall correctly it has to do with the salt has turned into carbonate if a large volume of salt is mixed with water too quickly. My chemistry sucks but I remember one should not add too much salt but add it slowly so that it all gets dissolved properly and not solifidy. Do make another batch of salt water with the brands that Kiko has suggested. good luck

  17. can we have a bit more info? HOw long have you been cycling the tank? Where did you get your Salt water from? You made it? NSW? What's the Salinity level? Temperature? your phosphate reading seems odd... it should be in PPM ( Parts per Million).. which test kit are you using? By any chance is this a freshwater setup converted to marine?
  18. ahahahah the butterfly does look like a dessert. so cute.
  19. holy crap.. that isopod is a whopper!!! ANd I LOVE your tank!!!! Very nice scaping.. so much space for fishys to swim,..your radioactive BN is damn nice. I got to get me one of those!
  20. I go for LED... electricity and heat issues. and also because my setup doesn't really have too many light demanding corals.
  21. hah how to just bring over.. everything will topple over man. Have to remove everything and transport it over. Anyway I wish to rescape with a different rock. good luck with converting your IQ3... I thought of getting that at first but then when I saw the IQ5 .. I was like.. I think I"d go for a bigger one... easier to find a rock for it! LOL
  22. HEAR HEAR vote wisely says the sage..
  23. btw peace, tuxedo urchins remove ALL sorts of algae? including coraline?
  24. very nice peace I like I LIKE the setup... too cool man too cool!
