ic.. i think you should do the water change 1st... usually recommended for after recycling.. After that, your nitrates shd stay low and normal water top up will do.. I saw that product.. not sure where got sell... by Daryl.. is selling some vials (Prodibio) which will reduce nitrates etc also.. similar function.. check out the pasar malam section.

True... did you do a 50% water change at the end of the cycle? We did that and subsequently the nitrate has been about 5ppm or less iirc.

I think you are referring to what they call the peninsula tank... 3 sided tank as a divider? My tank is something like that.. it's 4ft (l), 2.5ft (w), 2ft (h). You can see in members' tank spec to see if thats what you mean?

Ya... i think having UV on 24/7 is necessary lor.. unless you add some new lifestock.. We just got a nice haddoni that the black osci seems to love and start to zoom into it... very nice.. but now still moving so keeping fingers crossed...

Hi apple... Your setup is similar to our 4ft tank, you can check under Member Specs for Ketchup and Desi 4Ft tank for some ideas.. Impt is to get a good LFS that do a good job and guide you along and learn from the reefers here

The corals look great! Small tank but very neat and seems like excellent water quality also.

We collected 5 bartlett anthias and put them in the main tank already... very nice and shall take some pics and post when have time. So far, they have been schooling around fairly comfortable, chased occasionally by the YT but not really agressively. One of the bartlett, i suspect have some scratch, which i hope will recover but generally, all feeding well and swimming well and getting along with the other fishes... I think this is about the bioload that we will hold for now.,. plus maybe the tomato clown and boxer shrimp that now resides in our sump. Only addition that i likely to add is maybe a few more small snails, an algae blenny and some small fishes.. Ultimately, we may add in another 2 tangs... Naso + Powder blue/brown. Thats it for livestock. Coral wise, we may add some to see if the black osci will host in any... considering frogspawn now... any other suggestions? For hadonni, we will only get if we can get a small specimen that is nice in colour.
