haha, we typical singaporean ma.. kiasu! Anyway, hardly any smell at all... i was very surprised also.. esp since ours is close cabinet somemore.. i thought will trap the smell even more.

ehh, true... when we cycle, we threw in 5 prawns, quite big somemore... and yet hardly smell anything... I don't know does the active live sand with bacteria and NSW help or not... maybe people cycle without using NSW and live sand/live rock so will take longer and stink up the place... I think it took us only abt 5 days to complete the cycle and we waited until abt 1 full week then we slowly add in livestocks/corals.

I think u shd add the market prawn so it kick start faster.. Just dosing bacteria i think it will not kick in fast enough.

Haha... new OPC la.. we didnt really want to buy initially but since the new scheme is pretty good and we only use the car on weekends and weeknights after 7pm anyway so it makes sense... as for LFS, well all the LFS are so BLardy far from us... i think nearest is RD but still quite inconvenient if not driving, so i guess it a push factor We were saying that go LFS also no need to pay parking somemore... except for AM and RD i think.. LOL

Our QT? basically is our old 2 ft tank... size shd be 2X1.5X1 iirc... we fixed the old cheapo light from J**** that comes with the old 2 ft tank since it's fish only tank. We hook up a UV that is on 24/7 (i think is the 6w one? our main tank UV is the 24w iirc) and we are using our red sea prizm skimmer, also from our 2 ft tank. We aim to keep the Powder Brown for a mth in the QT before putting in the main tank. Will do the same again if we get a Powder Blue... If we can get both Powder Brown and Powder Blue, then the QT mainly will convert back to a small tank keeping some simple fishes... gobies/clownfishes i think.. or just decom lor.
