  2. helping desi to answer.. the eggcrate is to facilitate the air to cool the tank esp over the weekends. The cover for IQ5 is all sealed up. Also, with the eggcrate you can also still add an autofeeder or fan if you wish to
  3. haha... sure, you are welcome.. but we anyhow stockup 1... no gems
  4. Reef finder.. I am not an expert but i read before that for waves/circulation, you need to aerate the top as well, as in near surface. So if you install something that can be directed, i will point it either upwards or downwards and shift the vortech accordingly.
  5. So far... i think Yellow Wrasse are relatively peaceful... it may grow fairly big though, about 4 inches? 6 line is the most aggressive one i had..
  6. ya... consider yours a small setup, go for 5mm glass.
  7. ok... will try and find a spot for the red gornio... hehe... our tank is very high nutrients... lots of fishes...
  8. Yellow wrasses are prone to hiding in sand... but they will do their work quietly so as long as they are surviving it should be working (how much i guess depending on how hardworking la! haha!). With regards to the placement of MP40, i notice it is on the same side as your return pipe... perhaps can consider putting on opposite end? Also MP40 cannot be tilted so the bottom portion may not get much flow, perhaps get another wavemaker to point downwards.. Not sure if this helps.
  9. haha Thairun, too bad SPS will not survive in my tank otherwise i will get the sps frags Maybe next time
  10. Hi Alex You can check my wife's (DESI) thread on her IQ5, i think setup wise is similar. You can add in a tunze nano pump to generate some flow.
  11. ya Meng Yang, I noticed that... thats why i think a constant flow might be better... unless they worried about contamination.
  12. Is the white lightning maroon clown real? looks very nice and unique!
  13. yongshun, nice red gornio! where do you place your gornio? Ours is not doing very well... refuse to open up and extend.. We tried a few position already.
  14. hmmm, i feel that it might work but the thought of adding nutrients quickly into a SPS tank doesn't sound very "safe" to me! lol.. I was thinking about something in the line of this as well.. like having a SPS/few fishes tank and a LPS/more fishes tank. So the water will flow from SPS tank to LPS tank to sump/skimmer and return to SPS tank... I feel this is more logical. What's other reefers' thoughts?
  15. Good luck and hopes your hand stays itch-free during this tough phase.
  16. I also think it looks more like a koran than emperor. In any case, it's a very healthy and unique specimen
  17. Love both tanks... i love the look man when everything's hidden!
  18. beautiful maxi mini anemones... where did you get it from.. The blasto is looking very good as well
  19. Thanks Thairun for the nice frags/polyps
  20. I think most of the LFS are open already, except CF if i am not wrong but now shd have no shipment
  21. This is not IQ5 right? what brand/model is this?
  22. I think the key is still the water.. get your water tested.. esp your RO/DI etc.. Maybe it's time to change the resin etc.
  23. lol... think to go chek jawa collect corals! just kidding
