now that is dependent on whether I seriously need help or not. then again, I'd prefer it if the shopowner/helper actually comes up to say hello or something. feels nicer for me, and I feel more obliged to buy something from him/her/them. just my two cents worth -

I know this is a silly question but...why nuke it if you see a strand of hair there? =x -
you talking about surface skimmer or protein skimmer? surface skimmer? come come let me type in some five cents worth of advice from me. according to my freshwater experience, oil films become visible on the surface layer of the water mainly because of the food you feed the fish. now this water actually prevents gaseous exchange between surface layer of water and the water itself *pretty true since oil actually prevents oxygen from going through*. another thing that I learnt from freshwater is that it blocks the proper direct exchange of sunlight for photosynthetic plants. meaning to say that the film actually hinders proper absorbtion of light rays. why this happens, I don't really know although I can speculate that because the spectrum needed is reflected *I may be wrong so don't scream!* or something along those lines. I hope my five cents worth helped you in any way possible. however if you have a sump tank, a surface skimmer will not be needed because the flow system of the sump itself already produces a skimming action *something about water going into the intake or something like that. again, sorry if I sound blur* cheers and happy reefing (=

YOU ARE DAMN LUCKY NOT TO GET TENTANUS AND LOCK JAW AS A RESULT! and by the way, inflicting more damage by hitting doesn't help. in fact, it may worsen the thing as bloodflow to that point is increased due to the swelling.

I got quoted 1.2k for 4 by 2 by 2.5 (ft) 12mm thick full euro bracing, cabinet, sump, piping inclusive of check valve for the sump flow and return flow to tank. damn now I'm damn tempted to sign on the dotted line. obviously not chengai wood, and cabinet is pre-fabricated in malaysia. so yah. -

stainless steel is just....a form of steel which is mixed via the smelting process right? oxidation can still occur under the harshest of conditions. if I'm not wrong, lah. -
eh is that considered cheap or good? was quote 18/kg and 20/kg at cor@lf@rm what is PR anyway. Pasir Ris?

hahahahaha. although truthfully speaking, for wind to have the strength to pick humans up? it'll definitely have the strength to rip the human being up into pieces as well. so highly unlikely the dood in the tree will have any limbs attached to him. nice shot anyways hehz

oh. oops. sorry. bad mistake.

hi there.... those bacteria in a bottle thing? there are pretty mixed receptions towards it. in fact I'm one of those who experienced a mixed reaction as well...it worked superbly well for my goldfish tank when I needed to jumpstart my BB due to the fact I changed the Overhead Filter to a canister. worked supremely well. three days later all my readings were zero. as for my tetra tank. well. it almost wiped out my lifestock. almost. you could see them half dazed and floating around after adding the BB solution inside. was really scary. hope the above information helped.

IOS = Internal Overflow System. a small little corner of the tank where water is meant to "overflow" down into a sump setup, hence the name Internal Overflow System. water goes down to the sump via gravity, aka no mechanical aid like a pump ###### it down or something. (=

you mean there is such a thing? oh man I've got so much more to learn. hahaha. are these "racks" self customised *in other words, DIY* or do they come in configurations that can be set to your liking, like a Transformer toy of some sorts? thanks! (=

newbie tank questions

yes I know. upsizes come with prices, even at McDonalds. must add fifty cents for a larger drink and fries. blah blah blah. I think the same is reflected onto this hobby as well. hehz. I guess the tank makers I'm looking for must make cabinets, because the thought of using a wrought iron stand for the tank is...I don't know. I just want it to look nice lah. chengai wood. hmm. is it really saltwater resistant? oh well. the long of the short of it is this. thanks for your help. any lobang to recommend? -

you need to do periodic servicing to equipment to ensure it operates in tip top condition. (= sucky thing eh? but look at it this way, even cars need regular servicing before they can work at their optimum range. even the mighty Ferrari or fiesty Subaru WRC isn't excused from that! and well. skimmers. to a certain extent it MAY NOT be necessary. low bio load. two small kuching kerak *hope I got the spelling correct* fish *meaning super small lah. * and live rocks. shouldn't need it. but then again, prevention better than cure right? (=

I think this is an evil scheme from the admin to reduce our bandwith. why so? a) we get blinded by colour scheme we stop coming into forum c) bandwith usage reduced! hahaha. to admin. just kidding. then again I wouldn't know.
