alright first things first. tank dimensions. the sky is pretty much the limit *and of course other factors like size/cost/weight/yada yada yada* I myself am getting a 4 by 2 by 2.5 and I'm getting quite a good quotation on it. imho I think its good lah of course. not sure what others will say but hey, I'm fine with it. (= for a 3 by 2 by 2 10mm like what you said, the quotation *cabinet + pipng for sump* is around $840+/- a 4 by 2 by 2 12mm with cabinet and piping for sump will set you back around $1050+/-, and $1200 for a 4 by 2 by 2.5. if you want his contacts, you can PM me and ask for it lah. no obligations. best if we get together in fact. then maybe can broker for a good deal. tank details wise...there is an overflow system which leads direct to the sump at the bottom. something like an I-box, except this is inbuilt/internal. all drillings will be done by the tankmaker itself. like I said if you want the contact, just PM me okay? looking forward to hearing from you *in other words, looking forward to getting a good deal from him. * cheers! and as for the other questions. well. you'll require people of more expertise instead of me. no offence to the shop but it reminds me of this den where highly illegal operations are carried out. I don't know. maybe its the layout of the entire place? the first time I went there, I saw a dead lionfish at the foot of the rack. to make matters worse, employees just kicked it around *not intentionally of course* like its a football. nobody made the effort to pick it up. =\ I did however see a blue tang *I think it is a blue tang* without its tail. don't know whether it got bitten off or it grew up as a mutated version, minus the tail. pretty unique though. although the poor sod had hell of a good time trying to swim. =\

yup! in fact I went down today to take a look at his tank. his name is Gerald or something. really nice guy actually, spent about half hour telling me the schematics about the tank. and he's got a marine setup in the living room and he uses it as an example to show the sump function/partitioning and what not. highly recommended by many people from arofan and some folks from here, so...I guess I'll get my tank from him. eh you want? we get together. then maybe got discount. let me know! somehow my ability to edit the post was not there. hence the new reply. sorry! and also if you want to set up a new tank, say a 3ft to 4ft, my advise to you is this. don't bother wasting your time and money. then again I may be wrong. why I say don't waste your time? because you will be doing it by the time you finish your As, which is just when your tank should have completed is cycled stage. wait. let me retract my statement. you can transfer whatever LS and what not into your new tank. oops. sorry. blur lah me. if you want to go and see farms and all, let me know. I'm a newbie myself and I wouldn't mind company to fish farms to learn/find/see more about fishes and their fascinating lives under water cheers and study hard for your As!
