  1. me? harsh? I'm just blunt. (= I'm sorry if I appear to be blunt, but that is just me. anybody can testify to it. (=
  2. why are you so uptight over whether your macroalgae is doing well or not? if they aren't doing well, it could be due to the lack of NO3 to fuel their growth *which is good!*, lack of adequate lighting *not that it really matters*, or simply bad water chemistry that we may not know of *uh-oh*. unless you are going for a marine planted tank, I don't see why you should engage yourself in a philosophical quip about whether injecting CO2 is good for macroalgae growth, when it has been shown without a shadow of a doubt that it may do more harm to your tank and your pockets. PS by shown I mean from what the other reefers have mentioned in the posts prior to mine.
  3. okay. I'll update the list accordingly. but I wouldn't take the deposit from you first as I may not be sure that they are still alive. they like to hide in my liverocks. a lot. have to fish them out when I take out my liverocks. (=
  4. seamonkee.... heyyyy, can you get back to me ASAP? tried sending a few PMs but to no avail. thanks a bunch.
  5. no leh. my water doesn't appear yellowish to me. either that, or my eyes are really playing tricks on me.
  6. heard of photosynthesis? they require more than CO2 my dear friend. why do you think we put lights in the refugium, instead of CO2 bubble dispensers...or whatever you call that gizmo. (= I don't bother pumping in CO2 simply because it's a waste of money and time. and besides, my macroalgae grow quite well thank you very much, even without additional CO2. why? that is because I have a high nutrient tank, and high nutrient = NO3. since NO3 is required for the growth of all plant forms, including macroalgae, my macroalgae blooms as a result. when I mean bloom, they really bloom. like wildfire. (=
  7. the dottybacks are definitely smaller than 3 inches I think. in fact, they can't grow that big, can they? as for the grey fox face, I think it's way bigger than 3 inches. I think so lah.
  8. it is blue in colour. the colouring that is. as in, the outline lah. not the whole shrimp. (=
  9. you know what? I never bothered rinsing my media, even though I'm using FR. I just let the blown effluent go all over the tank, and after 10 minutes, it'll settle down on its own. and so far, I have no seen any far reaching consequences as a direct result of my sheer laziness to wash the media. (=
  10. would you want your tank to suffer from low pH, and have all fish die/get stressed as a result and have a nice garden of macroalgae to boast about? or would you rather let your CO2 levels be natural, let them macroalgae grow naturally, and have happy and healthy fishes who live in ideal pH ranges?
  11. dude. if you want good sound quality, you shouldn't even be listening to MP3s in the first place. a true blue audiophile will tell you to bug off if you tell him that his masterpiece orchestral arranged soundtrack sounded good on an iPod/any other MP3 device. iRiver/Zen/what other funky names, not even the iPod can recreate the audio environments that a true blue audiophile seeks. you shouldn't even be listening to CDs! try vinyl instead. it'll be quite cool to see you carry a vinyl player. (= not to mention the plethora of third party accessories available for the iPod. what does the iRiver have that the iPod cannot offer? it's always a situational compromise when it comes to such players. you either have aesthetics and pathetic SQ, or SQ that causes huge stimulations to audiophiles and aesthetic designs from the 1920s? Apple has managed to achieve a fine balance on both aesthetics and SQ, although I must say it's design leans heavily in favour to the aesthetic side of the story. by the way, I don't think testing out Sound Quality is done via blasting a song at high volume. if that is the case, am I right to assume that all the ah beng vans with huge sound boxes have good sound quality? since all the music they play sound better loud than when played softly. and nobody in his sane mind would play anything that requires you to be plugged into the ear at maximum volume, or anywhere near it. and PS. Apple actually has a specific lab that does research and development and designs for the iPod. if you ask me, that beats the pants down any Korean designer. not shooting you down. just a very passionate defence from a person who has tried out players before settling down with the iPod. and not regretting a single minute of it. (= anyway, when will the mass order be carried out? as in, when will we get the stuff? I'm interested in getting an iPod mini for a friend...and if saving up to $50 means waiting for three months, I'd rather go spend the $50. eh but wait for a while, coz there is a major Apple Convention somewhere over in the US, and experts have predicted that Apple may slash prices due to the imminent introduction of higher capcity models.
  12. hour glass figure..... beauty is in the eyes of the beholder mah.
  13. goodness he's looking for a girlfriend and his previous girlfriend was 16 years old? how old is he again?
  14. the audience who voted for him oughta have some CAT scans done immediately.
  15. on the 18th? that's bad. I'm going on the 16th in fact.
  16. southpaw.... I wouldn't be in singapore by the end of February. I guess you may have to ask somebody to take care of it for you first. (=
  17. don't kan chiong. I need to get rid of the live rocks first. I still have to run around settling my university stuff, all this whilst doing this. it's confusing at times. I can feel my small little mind exploding.
  18. the reason why we calculate until so cheem, is to make sure we know where our money is going and to make sure we are spending our money wisely. impulse buying, in this hobby or anywhere else for that matter, can and will lead you into serious debt trouble, both short term and long term. hence, people like to talk about the potential pitfalls of investing in a chiller that is bigger/smaller. ultimately, everybody is paranoid about the amount of dough coming out from the wallet as a result. face it, you'd be worried too if you were in the same predicament. (=
  19. my friend isn't interested. or rather, he's actually asking me to pay for him first. ervine, upz for your sale. (=

  21. psychologically, to people, faster = better. so I suppose time is a better thing. the downside of having a fast cooling chiller is that the change in temperature variation may be too great for the fishes to handle. then again, this can be solved by setting a lower delta value, and therefore having a faster cooling rate will ensure that the parameters are kept constant under the shortest possible time.
  22. don't dispair. I see if my friend want. (=
