  1. I guess its a second line of defence? or the "kiasu" syndrome that...better to have a backup inspite all the chemical additions? (=
  2. nobody ever said this hobby was a cheap hobby. =\
  3. and by the way, could you furnish us with the details of your tank? like dimensions/amount of sand/live rocks/skimmer you know. the usual. so that people like me can..emmulate you. (=
  4. okay I was wrong. you did cater for a sump. woohoo! nice tank. can I like go over and rip off ideas?
  5. FYI, mammals like dogs/cats/hamsters have to undergo a compulsory quarantine period when coming in from overseas. have you been to the quarantine farm before? oh my gosh its like...worse than a concentration camp. you can smell death in the air literally. many puppies don't even make it through that phase. and by the way, quarantine is two way. meaning if a dog comes from Australia, it must first be quarantined in Australia, then in Singapore. not sure about the rules now but that was the case when I bought my dog nine years ago. and she nearly died as a result from a severe infection that she got whilst at the quarantine kennels. we're out of point, aren't we. (=
  6. I wonder how on earth are you going to do landscape mode and enable macro at the same time. it'd be a clash of camera modes. which is why a full manual overwrite is still the best. gives you absolute control over the camera. for example if you want more focus, increase depth of field aka reducing f/stop number. if you want the colours to more intense and vivid, underexpose shots by reducing exposure by half step. you want colours to burn in *especially red*, overexpose by half a step or more. (=
  7. that I can't help you. sorry. hang in there..you'll definitely have some kind soul to come along and help you. (=
  8. it would be good if you gave more close up shots of your tank. (=
  9. I'm guessing ballast. starter. wiring. you checked any of these?
  10. relax! sure got people help you one. (=
  11. on the whole, nifty idea for the tank! (=
  12. hmm. okay if you say so. but best if ask him to re-enforce somemore. and eh. your tank wouldn't have a sump? I don't forsee the possibility of you putting one in unless you drill some holes into the cabinet.
  13. there's always the surgeon's knife to remove some bits and add on some bits. the products can be viewed at Changi Village and Desker Road. (=
  14. do you have a mode settings? try to look for it. normally its a knob or accessed by some buttons. for Canon, its classified as a TV mode. or you can use a full manual mode as well. gotta read the manual lah. my G3 also fixed lens type, yet I can play with both apperture and shutter. hehz not mocking you, but just illustrating to you my point. (=
  15. you sure the center portion can "tahan" the weight of a fully loaded tank?
  16. I always like to use a slightly slower shutter speed to capture the "ghosting" of a moving object. its a style I grew to love when working as a photographer assistant. (=
  17. shit. mine ends tomorrow. when does yours end? really interested in meeting you.
  18. read more. read. read. read. saves your time/money/trouble/headache/butt getting fried. (=
  19. technically, no. pH will always fluctuate one. especially when CO2 dissolves into water readily to form a weak acid (Carbonic acid). (=
  20. oh? MUAHAHAHAHAHHAHA eh stalk stalk. okay lame. =\
  21. now now who are you talking about? let me know. I want to go find. (=
  22. unfortunately, no. silly old me still requires the paper and all. hahaha I guess I'm still too caught up in memorising the colour of precipitation and what not and what test for anions/cations. blah blah blah.
  23. increase depth of field. that means smaller f/stop number. this will ensure that overall picture is sharp and balanced out. (=
  24. litmus paper? its highly inaccurate. unless you're talking about phenophthalein coated paper...in which you still need the colour chart. wait. are we talking about the same darn thing?
